- Yamato International School was founded by a single parent in 2002. After her son was diagnosed with severe intellectual and physical disabilities, she quickly realized he would require constant care and attention. During the early stages of his life, he was treated through innovative methods of physical therapy, which allowed him to venture independently into the world. She also raised her daughter, who was born healthy, into a very successful and distinguished physician. Her approach for raising children is the basis of the Yamato Method, allowing many children with special needs to improve their wellbeing, as close to a bright, healthy child as possible. It is not always the case that medical professionals often referred to as doctors, provide the best advice for children’s improvement. Parents should always be considered the best doctor and teacher for their child and should pave the path for their child’s independence. We work to create this opportunity and provide resources for you and your child’s future. Yamato International School designs its educational approach concerning America’s academic curriculum, along with an emphasis on specialized individual programs developed for every student. The class sizes consist of smaller groups of students, which provide opportunities to form closer relationships with their teachers, leading them to greater academic achievement. Through this one-on-one approach, we instill the development of ethical and responsible individuals by teaching the importance of morals and character building. Yamato International School also provides Exchange Programs with partnership schools abroad, constructing an educational environment to facilitate intercultural learning and identity development by encouraging students to experience understanding the similarities and differences of their own culture and the host country’s traditions and values. Through this international curriculum, Yamato International School values and inspires its students to achieve their full potential. originated as Hug Club Playcare Center, Yamato International School offers early education for students starting from six months old. With smaller group interactions between children and teachers, we provide independent nurturing environments made specifically for each student. The educational program developed by Yamato International School is modified and tailored to each student, which allows children to receive the individual attention and care they need to learn and grow while preventing potential delays in development and further encouraging children to achieve their full potential. The strong, love-filled bond between parents/caregivers and their child provides the baby’s first intimate relationship and has a great contribution to the formation of several intellectual abilities. Yamato International School values having a warm, caring, and nurturing upbringing for children during the early years, and teaching the importance of compassion. Yamato International School transportation provides a convenient, reliable, and safe bus service to our campus in Azabu. - Nishiyamato Gakuen High School was established about 30 years ago as the first educational institution operated by Nishiyamato Gakuen. The school started with nothing but the faculty's unrivaled passion, who used all their strength and effort to help the students make their dreams come true. Of course, the remarkable progress that Nishiyamato Gakuen achieved needs no explanation. Passion is the keyword in the running of every school operated by Nishiyamato Gakuen. We at Nishiyamato Gakuen strongly believe that education needs passion at any age, no matter how society changes. To achieve this dream, Nishiyamato Gakuen established Nishiyamato Academy of California about 25years ago in Los Angeles, U.S.A., as a Japanese school taught bilingually in English and Japanese. Today, the campus is home to approximately 700 students in full-time kindergarten/elementary/junior high school programs and Saturday-only supplementary classes. We will implement educational/research programs that directly answer the aspirations of future educators and medical professionals who "love people" and "want to help other people," and will guide their growth into talented professionals on whose shoulders our future rests. We will provide an ideal environment for the cultivation of substantial expertise, and the global viewpoint needed to respond to changing times quickly. We will foster a depth of thought and warmth of heart, which are essential for any educator or medical professional. The motto of Yamato University is "Fly High with Your Ambition." This maxim applies to the future students who will learn with the management and faculty members who will lead the school. We will strive to create new values heretofore not offered by any other university. We at Yamato University are committed to being ready for a great start with students and faculty members who have an unwavering desire to soar. Nishiyamato Gakuen subsequently established a supplementary school in Irvine and a kindergarten in San Jose, expanding its educational network on the U.S. West Coast. Back in Japan, Hakuho Women's College, which was established by Nishiyamato Gakuen about 20 years ago, has significantly expanded into a full-scale college that offers qualification programs for children's nurse, kindergarten teacher, elementary school teacher, nursing teacher, nurse, physical therapist, speech-language-hearing therapist, public health nurse, midwife, etc., and has great hope for spearheading women's career development in healthcare. Nishiyamato Gakuen is establishing Yamato University at a site conveniently located in front of JR Suita Station. As they say, "Building a nation starts from building its people," but there will not be good people without good teachers. The new university will start with two faculties, including the Faculty of Education, which draws on Nishiyamato Gakuen's experience in the development of elementary, junior high and high school teachers, and the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, which develops medical professionals in demand today by using the solid foundation built by Hakuho Women's College. The ambitious dream of Yamato University is to become a leading university in western Japan offering comprehensive curriculums and courses at levels comparable to Waseda University and Keio University in eastern Japan.
