      1. Dormers Wells Junior is a large, multicultural school in Southall for pupils aged 7 – 11. We have three classes in each year group and can accommodate up to 412 pupils. We have close links and share our site with Dormers Wells Infant School and are also located close to Dormers Wells High School and Dormers Wells Sports Centre (where the children go swimming). There is a long-standing tradition of sporting excellence. This is supported by specialist teaching of physical education and a range of extra-curricular clubs. We are part of the Dormers Wells Family within the Featherstone School Sports Partnership and have several sports teams who actively represent the school at inter-borough competitions. Our vision is to provide a happy, caring, and stimulating environment where children will achieve their fullest potential so that they can make their best contribution to society. Our vision for Dormers Wells Junior School reflects a passionate commitment to learning and recognition of the uniqueness of individual learners. It is driven by our desire to offer the best possible education for our pupils in partnership with our parents and the local community. We believe our approach will inspire a love of learning and unlock the potential that lies within all of our children, preparing them to be happy, successful, and responsible citizens in the future. Our aims and vision are designed to fulfill Article 6 from the UNICEF Charter of the Rights of the Child which states that We have to do all we can to ensure that children survive and develop to their full potential. Our children and families come from all over the world and more than 30 languages are spoken. Our commitment is to ensure that all our pupils share one language and one goal-to be the very best. At DWJS we plan different cross-curricular projects for each school term. We try to make as many links across different subjects as possible. Listed below are the main objectives that will be learned. You can use these to guide additional research and visits at home as this will support your child’s learning and understanding. The government provides additional funding per annum for primary schools that qualify, to improve the provision of physical education (PE) and sports. This funding - provided jointly by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport - will be allocated to primary school headteachers. The money must be used to improve the provision of P.E. and school sport. The purpose of this grant is to fund improvements to the provision of PE and sport, for the benefit of pupils aged 5-11 years old, in the 2016/17 academic year so that all pupils develop healthy lifestyles. This has recently been extended until 2020. P.E. and school sport, play a very important part in the life of the Dormers Wells pupil. We are proud of our sporting reputation at this school and we want to improve and enhance provision for the subject with this money. We believe that P.E. and school sport contribute to the holistic development of our children and, through participation, our children build and learn more about our key values such as respect, co-operation, and kindness for themselves and others. They notice how well the students behave in this very friendly and high achieving school, and how smart they appear in their school uniform. Our vision is to empower students so that they can take control of their future and have enhanced life chances as a result of learning with us. We have very high expectations for the achievement of all of our students at Dormers Wells High School. Our latest Ofsted report validates this sentiment with the school continuing to be judged as securely Good. However, the real measurement of a school is not in its building or resources. It is about the strength and effectiveness of the people who belong to its community. Our 2015 Ofsted inspection stated students are proud of their school. At the heart of everything we do are our students. Our curriculum is student-centered and we aim for their education to be inspiring, stimulating, and challenging. Our students’ results in mathematics placed us in the top 2% percent of schools nationally for progress made from KS2 to KS4 and humanities is in the top 3% nationally. We encourage and nurture a ‘growth mindset in all members of our community this ethos is supported by our flexible curriculum, which enables our students to make rapid progress. As Ofsted stated: “The atmosphere is calm and orderly. Pupils have high aspirations and work hard”. Our staff members, both teaching and support, are a dedicated and highly professional team with a genuine interest in the psychological and physical well-being, and development of every student. Our pastoral care systems ensure that the students are provided with every opportunity to realize their full potential. It is well known that the staff, students, and parents of DWHS work in close partnership to ensure that all the necessary ingredients are in place to meet individual needs. We know from our own experiences what difference teachers make to the progress of the students. That is why staff development is given the highest priority at DWHS. Our extensive training program is based around the Dormers 9, which gives us a common language about the delivery of great teaching and learning. We also have a provision for students with a hearing impairment, which enables these students to be fully integrated into the main school curriculum and extended school activities. Dormers Wells High School aims to provide an excellent education in a safe, supportive learning environment, where people are valued and make positive contributions to the school community, and where students go on to become responsible, independent members of society. Our vision is to empower students so that they can take control of their future and have enhanced life chances as a result of learning with us. We are academically ambitious for our students: everyone matters. We want our students to become independent learners, who are critical in their thinking, informed in their choices, and confident in their ability to succeed in the modern world. We also want students who are respectful and tolerant, driven and confident, and who strive for the best. In addition to their academic lives, we also want our students to benefit from extra-curricular experiences in the arts, sport, and culture, which will help them become well-rounded balanced adults. Dormers Wells High School is committed to working closely and in harmony with its community and celebrating the diversity of the UK. We aim to prepare students for life in modern Britain and to ensure that our school ethos, curriculum, and approaches to teaching and learning reflect and promote British values. We recognize that these values are not exclusive to being British and that they have come to be accepted throughout the democratic world as the method of creating an orderly society in which individual members can feel safe, valued, and can contribute for the good of themselves and others. We work alongside our local community and recognize the variety of religious beliefs within it. Students take part in local events and meet different members of the community to appreciate the valuable contributions they make. All subject departments are aware of the importance of transmitting British values through their curriculum content. View full school

      4. At Wells Primary School, we strive to ensure that every child enjoys a happy, fulfilling, and successful education within a safe, nurturing environment. We are fortunate to have a caring, committed staff supportive parents and carers, and a skilled governing body who works in partnership to ensure the best outcomes for our pupils. Together, we encourage our children to be motivated to learn and to celebrate their achievements. We pride ourselves on setting high expectations for all, in everything we do. We strive for excellence, aiming only for the best in terms of conduct and academic achievement. At the same time, we are truly inclusive and have an excellent track record in ensuring high-quality provision for pupils who are vulnerable or who have additional needs. Pastoral care is strong and lies at the heart of our ethos. We were delighted therefore when our Ofsted inspection in 2014 graded us 'outstanding' in all categories: teaching and learning, quality of provision, behavior, and leadership and management. Visitors to the school often comment on the high standards of behavior, calm and productive atmosphere, and the approachable, friendly demeanor of the whole school community. It is, indeed, a supportive, cohesive community, where pupils and staff from a diverse range of backgrounds and faiths enjoy learning together in harmony. Conscientious, committed staff endeavor to make every child feel equally valued and cherished so that they are well-placed to learn and achieve. Alongside strong pastoral support, the high expectation is central to the ethos of the school - if we are going to do a job, we are going to do it properly. All employees are expected to share this commitment to excellence. Enthusiastic teachers and support staff aim to motivate and inspire children with a well-delivered, interesting curriculum. An equally committed governing body works closely with the headteacher, senior management, and other staff to challenge and support the team in its mission for excellence. In September 2012, the Governing Body decided to reconstitute so that it can work more effectively towards a common goal – to provide the best possible opportunities for Wells’ pupils. Another key principle of Wells is to work closely in partnership with parents and carers and provide a welcoming environment. The headteacher has made this a key priority and aims to actively involve parents/carers in the pupils’ education wherever possible. We encourage Wells’ pupils to: Work conscientiously and strive to achieve their best. Develop confidence yet remain modest. Be kind and supportive to others and be generous of spirit. Show respect and value diversity. Demonstrate excellent standards of behavior. Enjoy life and seize opportunities. Value and protect the environment. Be proud of their school. Prepare for the next stage in their education. We are aware that today's children are tomorrow's leaders and recognize our responsibility to help prepare them to become the decision-makers of the future. Each month, teachers and pupils explore a different theme during PSHCE lessons, assemblies, or at other appropriate times. The emphasis is on encouraging children to become independent thinkers who understand their roles as citizens of a school community but also of a wider, national and global arena. View full school
      5. Children have been educated at Wells Cathedral School for over a thousand years, in what has to be one of the world’s most beautiful and inspiring locations. But while a sense of place provides something crucial as a child grows up and learns about themselves and the world in which they live, it is even more important that every child feels comfortable and secure enough to be able to discern, explore and test their talents and interests. Grounded in a timeless tradition and ethos since its origins as a Chorister School, yet adept enough to relish the challenges of the 21st century, Wells Cathedral School provides an encouraging and ambitious education for every child. Whether your son or daughter is in the Sixth Form, Senior, Music, Junior or Nursery School, We believe all children’s school days should be filled with opportunities to explore a range of interests and ideas some will stick, some won’t, but all experiences are valuable and formative. At Wells, we give our pupils numerous opportunities to discover and nurture individual passions, in turn propelling them into a successful and fulfilling life beyond school. We are interested in the education of the whole child so that our pupils become thoughtful, confident, articulate, creative, and caring individuals. The website provides you with an introduction to the wonderful education we offer to our pupils at Wells Cathedral School. We ensure that there is an appropriate mixture of structure and freedom to suit each pupil from their early days in the Junior School through to the end of their time with us in the Sixth Form, which offers excellent preparation for further education or future careers. With this in mind, our flexibility enables all our pupils to make the most of their time at school and establishes a brilliant foundation to build on as an adult. This might mean some pupils take more GCSEs or A levels than others whilst some pupils spend more time developing in a specific field. We don’t have a “one size fits all” mentality we have a “let’s work out what’s best for your future” mentality. View full school

The school has policies in place regarding Equality, to ensure that there will be no discrimination against any individual or group, regardless of faith, ethnicity, gender, status, or similar. 8.
      9. We are a mixed community comprehensive school in the London Borough of Ealing dedicated to serving our locality. All visitors to our school notice how proud the students and staff are of their school.
      11. Ordinarily, we would also be very keen to invite you to come and see the School yourselves and to meet us. However, since we are unable to accept visitors to the site at the moment, we have prepared a Virtual Tour of our Senior School and Junior School (please see below). We also would be delighted to meet with you ‘virtually’ – please contact our Admissions Department to set up an appointment. And as soon as we are open again physically do please come and see us! Our school is comprised of a dynamic mix of boys and girls aged 2-18 who have a variety of talents across our various school stages: Little Wellies Nursery, Junior School, Senior School, and Sixth Form which are complemented by our Specialist Music Faculty. Our core belief and motto Esto Quod Es (Be What You Are) is what ties our school together and lends itself to a happy, stimulating environment where all our pupils can thrive and develop their talents or even discover new ones. All of our pupils live as part of an accepting community where being friends with people with extraordinary talents is accepted as the norm. We invite everyone to ‘give it a go’ so pupils of all abilities can join in at a level that suits them and make the most of all we have to offer so that they can become the best they can be. Everyone has a refreshing sense of mutual respect, whatever their interests and talents. We provide a wide range of opportunities to support everybody to be the best versions of themselves so they can develop their existing talents and discover new ones. Wells offers a: proven track record in academic excellence specialist music scheme specialist mathematics scheme wide range of co-curricular opportunities to choose from strong creative arts program, ranging from dance, music, art, drama, and more wide range of competitive and recreational sports program of outdoor education opportunities, including Combined Cadet Force (CCF) and the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme, in addition to the school’s own 909 programs. We are always open to new ideas and will do our best to accommodate your interests if you’d like something we don’t currently offer.
