The history of Regent University is an inspiring testament of what vision backed by excellence, innovation, and integrity can accomplish. Dr. M.G. "Pat" Robertson had an inspired vision of establishing a graduate-level institution that would train capable men and women for the challenge of representing Christ in their professions. In 1977, his vision materialized — a 70-acre parcel of land in Virginia Beach, Virginia, was cleared. The foundation was poured for the university's first building, and an institution was incorporated as "CBN University." The following year, 77 students began classes in modest, rented facilities nearby. Today, thousands of students earn their associate, bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees at Regent University. Throughout its dramatic growth as a global center for Christian thought and action, the university has remained steadfast to its mission — Christian Leadership to Change the World.
  2. We are proud of our team of dedicated staff who provide an inspiring, structured, and supportive learning environment, in which every student is challenged to realize their full potential and encouraged to be ambitious for their futures. Our offer is enhanced by the extensive opportunities we can provide as a result of our enviable location in the heart of London and the many partnerships we have developed with international businesses, educational institutions, research centers, local primary schools, and community groups. We have high expectations for our students and expect them to come to school prepared to learn. We encourage all students to take advantage of the wide range of extra-curricular opportunities we offer including clubs, visits to universities, workshops, and mentoring with business professionals as well as academics, and educational trips within the UK and abroad. Regent High School looks forward to an exciting and promising future, with improving exam results, extensive opportunities for students, a successful Sixth Form, and a state-of-the-art, RIBA Award-winning building. Embedded within our ethos is our confidence that every student will succeed and leave us fully equipped for the world of work as aspirational, resilient young leaders. Academic success is at the core of our work and we are committed to students achieving the highest levels of progress and success. Our students' success is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our excellent teaching staff, who are committed to ensuring that every student at Regent High School excels and leaves at 18 or 19 with the qualifications and skills needed for future success. Our £26million state-of-the-art new building, which was opened in April 2015 by UCL scientist and Nobel Prize-winning Professor John O'Keefe, provides an outstanding and stimulating learning environment for our students, with modern technologies, resources, and facilities providing a platform for success. In addition to this, we aim to become a hub for the local community and our partner primary schools, using our new facilities and environment for the benefit of everyone in our community. We place great emphasis on providing students with a personalized learning experience, understanding their abilities, and encouraging their aspirations. Former students have gone on to enjoy successful careers in medicine, law, teaching, journalism, architecture, finance, and marketing. Others have become engineers, medical and social policy researchers, politicians, and entrepreneurs. These new endeavors have been at destinations such as Oxford, Cambridge, UCL, Imperial College, London, and Queen Mary, University of London. Students thrive at Regent High School and leave us as inspired, independent, and articulate young adults, ready to enter the world as ambitious global citizens. Our vision is formed and inspired by our global outward-looking approach to teaching and learning which aims to develop students who are confident, independent, and resilient global citizens of the 21st century with limitless aspirations equipped to be successful in any pathway they choose. We encourage all students and staff to understand, share and embrace our vision, and embed our values and ethos into everyday practice. Our central location in the city of London has enabled us to explore, build and develop extensive links with professional organizations, globally renowned businesses, and distinguished educational institutions. We continuously look to find ways of further enhancing the opportunities we provide to our students through these enriching partnerships and we are confident we can deliver a comprehensive education to suit all needs and interests and offer students a global insight into the world of work. In our journey towards achieving our vision, all of what we do is underpinned by our mission: Offering an inspiring, dynamic, and rigorous curriculum that meets the needs, interests, and abilities of all children. Encouraging students to reach, challenge and exceed their potential. Providing a supportive and structured learning environment where students thrive. Working with external partners to provide enhancing and enriching opportunities for every student. Ensuring our students leave us as confident, articulate young adults ready to enter university or the world of work. Getting to know every child so that their individual needs are met, their abilities are understood and their talents are developed.

  5. Regent is a warm and friendly school made up of excellent staff, an outstanding student body, and wonderful, supportive parents. We value all of these as our most incredible resource. From office administrators to teachers to kitchen staff, all of our staff want the very best for our students and care a great deal about seeing each of them succeed. At Regent, we have capitalized on being a medium-sized school. Therefore, we can offer our students more opportunities to be involved in a wider variety of activities than a larger school might be able to. Our students are known by name, even by many of the kitchen and maintenance staff members, and they are treated as individuals, not merely as part of a group. It is our vision to partner with and support families in training their children. When walking onto our campus, this partnership's success is evident and is evidenced by the smiles on friendly faces that can be seen on any day in any one of our classrooms. Every successful school needs vision and direction to provide a clear path for its staff, students, and families. The following pages contain a snapshot of our school and outline much information to help you get to know us better. Welcome to the Primary School at Regent Christian Academy, where our youngest students have fun while building strong foundational skills in all subject areas. During the first years of school, attitudes and behavior patterns are developed that help shape students for the rest of their lives. Our Primary School at RCA is an exciting place to be, and we desire to plant the seeds of a life-long love for discovery and learning. Our kind, nurturing teachers are professionals who plan and implement programs to bring out the best in each child. Field trips, hands-on activities, and lessons that address various learning styles create a highly effective learning environment. Our school maintains a positive yet disciplined climate that fosters respect for God, self, and others. Out of this comes a desire for service, and we provide many opportunities to make a difference both in the community and globally. At the heart of our school are a love for the Lord and a desire to grow in our Christian faith. Students have a core teacher who provides instruction in the academic areas and leads the class in devotions and essential life and character-building discussions. This arrangement provides stability and security, allowing an essential student-teacher bond to develop. We integrate God's Word into all aspects of learning and teach all subjects from a biblical worldview. As students progress through these middle years, teachers increase responsibility as they begin to gain their independence. We aim to provide the guidance and support necessary for adolescent students to make a successful transition into high school. These are exciting years for young people as they begin to think more independently and ask foundational questions of faith and existence. By creating a caring and challenging environment where learning opportunities abound, students are encouraged to develop their future service talents in God's kingdom. The last leg of a student's journey and the launching pad into young adulthood and any number of new pathways. In our high school, students truly begin to grasp the concept of what it means to be "Mighty in Spirit," and where the fruit that has been developing over the years of training and studying finally ripens into a virtuous character that will impact our world. One of our school year's highlights for our grade 9 & 10 students is the Retreat in September, where students enjoy fun activities and powerful worship times. Carefully vetted speakers challenge the students to be light in the darkness. Our grade 11 & 12 students participate in a variety of team-building events known as the Signature Series. As a discipleship school, our foremost goal is for students to leave RCA, knowing the power of Christ's servitude, love, and sacrifice. Our smaller size allows for daily interactions between students and staff, and the intimate atmosphere is conducive to spiritual, emotional, and academic growth. Our dedicated staff members work hard to plan and implement programs to bring out our students' best. We take very seriously the responsibility God has placed upon us to provide the guidance and support necessary for success in the high school years and beyond. High school students have many exciting opportunities to experience the blessing of service through our missions programs, which reach out into others' lives both locally and globally. These life-altering experiences go with them as they graduate and step out into the world—a world where they can share the love of Christ and humbly serve. As they discover their unique gifts and talents, and as they understand who they are in Christ, it can be said of our graduates that they leave here "Mighty in Spirit." Integrated spaces for kindergartens (age 5) to grade 8 (age 13) are available in our kind and caring classrooms. Our experience is that at these grade levels, students learn English quickly by being immersed in an English classroom environment. Our BC certified Teachers have experience with welcoming new international students into their classrooms. Many of our international students who have started in our younger grades have stayed with us until graduation. We are a school that believes in respect, kindness, and acceptance, along with our high academic standards. We would love to welcome you to join us. Students, Grades 9 to 12, are initially accepted into our English Language Learning. They are given some tests to determine which level of our program they will enter. In rare cases, a student of high school age may receive direct entry into our regular program. Most students spend one year in our ELL program before they are ready for full integration. We combine the best elements of independent education, small class sizes, quality teaching, and excellent resources, yet without the level of fees that prohibit so many parents from taking the independent option. We know that our parents, who send their sons and daughters to Regent, are hardworking people, many of whom are prepared to make financial sacrifices to give their children the opportunity of studying here. This commitment made by our parents is uppermost in our minds when a new student enrolls with us. Therefore, the central mission of all the staff who work at Regent is to help fulfill these aspirations. We very much operate an open door policy to ensure that parents and guardians are fully informed as to the progress made by their children. Also, we provide written reports and have two parents’ evenings during the academic year. As a parent relayed, ‘Communication with the College has been excellent and staff has always been accessible. In my experience, this is a unique educational establishment.’ We are very proud of the high quality of teaching and learning at Regent Independent College. All our teachers are highly qualified subject specialists with years of experience. Also, many of our teachers are examiners in their own right. Our teachers take account of individual students’ starting points and learning needs and help them make good progress. Our examination results are in the public domain and pay testimony to the success of our students. As Ofsted commented, ‘Teaching over time enables students to learn well. Our teachers help to promote a culture whereby students are independent learners, who take responsibility for their success.
