  1. Our vision as an apostolic and prophetic school is to equip children(Ephesians 4:11,12). There are several areas that we will focus on. First, children will be equipped for their work of ministry. Each child has a destiny in Christ and a purpose in the kingdom of God. Every child has a ministry whether in the church or the secular realm. Every child’s future requires preparation, training, and equipping. Children need to understand how to live according to godly standards in all aspects of life. Children also need practical knowledge, understanding, and wisdom of pertinent subject matter. We find in Luke 2:52 that Jesus Himself grew in wisdom, stature, and in favor with man and God. Jesus had to receive training to grow in wisdom, to have physical health and strength, to have social skills and friendship with others, as well as, having a relationship with His heavenly father. This is also true for children. Church of Praise International Christian School is a church-based Christian school. It started in 2004 April. We have Japanese, American, and English staff which creates an international atmosphere. We have developed our special curriculum to educate children. The following is our program. Our Biblically based, the integrated curriculum provides opportunities for children to explore concepts and absorb information by learning in ways that suit their different learning styles. Our classroom life is stimulating and satisfying. We recognize that each child has their type of intelligence. Therefore, we offer music, art, movement, math, social studies, nature explorations, and science experiments as integral parts of the day. Our curriculum is designed to meet the ways that different children learn, and provide opportunities for all types of intelligence to succeed. Our curriculum includes Christian principles that will teach children social and moral skills for life. Our integrated curriculum is designed to ensure that each child develops both Japanese and English languages. Through studying various themes students will engage in activities where they will speak, listen, and write in both Japanese and English. Within the school’s daily program there are specific times for only speaking Japanese or only speaking English. Our program provides native-speaking Japanese teachers as well as native-speaking English teachers who will instruct in their native language. Our physical activities program is designed to be fun, promote physical fitness, promote neuromotor skills, as well as, perceptual-motor skills. Specialized physical activity has many benefits including health, brain stimulation that develops and improves the child’s attention span and thinking capabilities. Our program includes specific physical activities that are not only fun but prepare children for higher forms of learning too. Learning centers play an important role in our curriculum. Learning centers are designed to provide hands-on learning that coordinates with the theme being studied. Learning centers have many benefits. They allow children to have the autonomy to explore their interests positively. Learning centers foster self-esteem, decision-making abilities, individual and group learning, as well as, focusing attention on learning. Learning centers contribute to meeting individual student's learning styles, intelligence, and interests. This form of learning is engaging and encourages children to have a positive attitude towards learning!
