University of Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara formulate its vision and mission for implementation and development as follows. Vision is to be a higher education that excels in building the civilization by developing science, technology, and human resources by toAl-Islam and Muhammadiyah's. The mission is to achieve its vision; the University of Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara has missions as Perform education and teaching methods based on Al-Islam and Muhammadiyah's. Enforce research, science, and technology development based on Al-Islam and Muhammadiyah's. Conduct community services through community empowerment and development based on Al-Islam and Muhammadiyah's. The purpose is to realize the vision and mission, the goals to be achieved as Produce graduates who have professional, creative, innovative, independent, and responsible. The University has the function to manage the educational resources, including the guidance of faith and devotion to Allah SWT, education and teaching, research, community services, and compile and carry out technical academic policies subject and responsible to the Higher Education Council (Majelis Dikti) under applicable provisions. The University of Muhammadiyah Makassar (Unismuh Makassar), as one of Muhammadiyah Universities (PTM), assigns the task and a crucial role for religion, the nation, and state, both in the present and in the future, At its inception, the University of Muhammadiyah Makassar built two faculties, namely the Faculty of Teacher Training and Arts Department of Indonesia, and the Faculty of Teacher Training and Educational Sciences Department of Public Education (PU) and Social Studies (PS), which were led by the Rector, i.e., Dr. H. Sudan. In the same year (1963), the University of Muhammadiyah Makassar has stood on its own and is chaired by the Rector of Drs. H. Abdul Watif Masri. The subsequent development of the University of Muhammadiyah Makassar in 1995 opened the new faculties, namely: the Faculty of Religious Studies and Dakwah (FIAD), the Faculty of Economics (Felon), the Faculty of Social Welfare, and the Academy of Agriculture. In 2003, the University of Muhammadiyah Makassar encountered the transitional stage of historical development, such as changing leadership formation by the merger of the younger generation and the older generation. The leadership and the entire academic staff of Muhammadiyah Makassar University were determined to preserve the achievements of its predecessors and develop it to better outcomes, as well as committed: (1) maintaining public confidence, (2) achieving excellence in the increasingly fierce competition, and (3) realizing independence in the management and self-development. The third commitment is expected to present the University of Muhammadiyah Makassar became the foremost Islamic College. This vision becomes the guidelines for organizing Catur Dharma of the Muhammadiyah University at the University of Muhammadiyah Makassar for a period up to 2024, with the following explanation as follows: It is interpreted as the charitable efforts of Muhammadiyah, which engaged in the field of missionary endeavor (dakwah) and Amar maꞌruf Nahi Munkar. As a shelter under the Perserikatan of Muhammadiyah, the University of Muhammadiyah Makassar always tries to maintain the image of Muhammadiyah, particularly in the field of education, which fulfills the mandate of the social community in organizing Catur Dharma for the higher education of Muhammadiyah. Furthermore, the University of Muhammadiyah Makassar can be the first choice of society. The definition of superior has substantive meaning for high-value of competitive. The excellence or superior of the University of Muhammadiyah Makassar will be constructed through substantial academic activities that can be competed for national and international aspects. The excellence developed leads to the following six excellence fields, namely: (1) Education, (2) Research, (3) Community Service, (4) Studentsꞌ affairs, (5) Institutional, and (6) Al Islam Kemuhammadiyahan. Each field is encouraged to have specific advantages in implementing the ability of Islamic values into all fields of science, technology, art, and culture that it has a highly competitive value. The public confidence and excellence in various fields is the main asset in reaching self-independent. Two questions are covered as independent, namely: (1) Muhammadiyah Makassar University as an institution that is capable of self-management and self-development/institution, and (2) Independently in realizing prosperity for the whole academics staff, graduates, community, the nation, and the state. The original vision of Muhammadiyah Makassar University has the meaning as the noble aim that guided and planned for (1) maintaining the trust of all academic staffs of Muhammadiyah Makassar University, graduates, and society that the University of Muhammadiyah Makassar is the right place for study, develop and disseminate the knowledge, as well as a place to dedicate and worship to Almighty God (Allah SWT). (2) achieving excellence in the implementation process of Catur Dharma of Higher Education of Muhammadiyah, and (3) realizing independent management and self-development, and being able to prosper the whole academic staff of Muhammadiyah Makassar University, graduates, society, nation, and state.
  3. University of Muhammadiyah PONTIANAK (UM PONTIANAK) is one of 178 Muhammadiyah universities in Indonesia. Develop and improve the quality of human resources, faculty, and staff, to produce graduates who have the spirit of self-reliance in various knowledge, expertise, technology, and art. Build centers of excellence ( center of excellence ) line with their competence and strategic featured area. Establish an ongoing collaboration with stakeholders at the local and national level, society, industry, and the business world both locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally. Produce high-quality graduates with a master of science and technology and professional manner and Islamic art and highly competitive. Creating and developing science and art synergism by changing times or beneficial to the welfare of the people. Improve and develop the professionalism of the faculty and staff in education and teaching quality. Creates and develops the relevance of education following the competence of stakeholders-based regional strategic advantage in dealing with the regional, national, and global competitiveness. Strengthen the organization and public image by developing co-operation ( networking ) with various regional, national, and international organizations to create a healthy, independent, and competitive.
  4. The University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) has been serving the Nation since 1964 and improving and enhancing academic quality. I am a Drs. H. The desire to establish UMMI received a positive response from City, Local, and Regency Government, hoping that Muhammadiyah could pioneer the human resource development relevant to future development demands. The ex-secretariat building of Sukabumi Regency, located at Jalan R. Syamsudin, S.H. Nomor 50 Sukabumi, was given to Muhammadiyah Confederation as a form of support from the Government of Sukabumi Regency. The building then became the campus of UMMI. After the sale and purchase agreement with terms agreed by both sides was held, right on 5 November 2002 (29 Sya'ban 1423 Hijriyah), then the former Sukabumi Regency Office was located on Jalan R. Syamsudin, S.H. No. 50 Sukabumi was officially used as a campus of UMMI. That handover event has become the pioneer of UMMI establishment in a strategic place. And the campus has become a reputable private university in Sukabumi City. After that handover event, a letter of consideration of the UMMI establishment was published by the Directorate General of Higher Education in July 2002. A year later, the Directorate General of Higher Education published Letter of Decree of Operational Permit Number 81/D/2003 on 13 June 2003. Based on that operational license, UMMI had ten departments, and after ten years, UMMI has five faculties consisted of 14 departments. After two years, in 1981, IKIP Muhammadiyah Surakarta was renamed Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta.
