  1. Our School will provide a happy, safe, and stimulating learning environment, where everyone will be inspired and supported to do their personal best. Our aim is that all children and young people at Meadow High School are entitled to an appropriate education, one that meets their needs, promotes high standards, and fulfillment of potential. Have high aspirations and expectations for all our pupils Ensure that individuals achieve their personal best Encourage independence, life skills, self-confidence, and positive self-esteem Help our pupils to become confident individuals living fulfilling lives Support our pupils to make a successful transition into adulthood, be this employment, further education, or training Have an inclusive community, which values truth, diversity, and mutual respect Have effective communication with all parents/carers and other partners recognize, celebrate, and record the achievements of all At Meadow High School our ethos, vision, and aims are underpinned by British Values. We also offer a range of clubs which are run at lunchtimes and after school. These include chess, cricket, dance, drama, football, fitness, games, and Butterfly Craft club. You can find an up-to-date list of clubs under Our School / School Clubs. We are fortunate to have several mini-buses which are used to take the pupils on educational trips and visits. We also run an annual residential trip and make regular use of the Hillingdon Outdoor Activity Centre (HOAC). Meadow High School intends to develop attitudes and ways of behaving which respect individuals regardless of their ability, color, gender, or social circumstances. The school is opposed to any form of discrimination and it seeks to ensure through a partnership with students, staff, governors, staff, and parents that fairness, respect, and being valued are important within the school and the community. Meadow High School is opposed to bullying in any of its forms and it will not be tolerated in school. We are committed to providing a caring, friendly and safe environment for all our students so they can learn in a relaxed and secure atmosphere. Parents and families have an important role to play in helping to deal with bullying. Meadow High School would wish to maintain an ethos that creates positive values. There are in society, generally agreed basic principles of moral behavior, honesty, concern for others, regard for property and these are all virtues to be encouraged in children. Leading by example we will offer our pupils ways to improve, modify and adapt to what we believe to be right, in light of the developing notions of citizenship.
  2. At Ashbury Meadow, we believe in the value of every child and adult who enters our doors and becomes part of our community and by showing value, we expect them to show value and respect towards one another. We encourage and support every child to reach their true potential, leaving them equipped and empowered for the next step of their life and learning journey. Class teachers are responsible for the children’s welfare and delivery of the curriculum. We have introduced a creative curriculum, based on project-based learning. This year we are continuing our whole school project, based on our local area. Pupils will use key geography and history skills to investigate places close to us and present their work to the community. We work closely with The East Manchester Academy and other high schools to ensure a quality transition and also enable our pupils to experience sports, science, maths, and literacy activities that we cannot provide at primary school. We are very proud to be starting our journey to becoming a Unicef Rights Respecting School. We are situated in the heart of an urban regeneration area in a superb primary school building, which opened in September 2004. The building was extended in 2015, enabling us to move to two form entries and creating a wonderful open plan early years resource. We have extensive grounds, including an internal courtyard which we use as a sheltered growing area, and also a wildlife and woodland area. We put a great deal of emphasis on learning outside of the classroom. Within school, we have created an outdoor classroom, KS1, and KS2 activity areas, and further play areas in the early years, including a mud kitchen, woodland walk, and castle treehouse. This summer we will be creating an auditory walk through another wooded area for the whole school to enjoy and learn from. The Government has released a New National Curriculum which was implemented in September 2014. The National Curriculum provides pupils with an introduction to the essential knowledge that they need to be educated citizens. It introduces pupils to the best that has been thought and said and helps engender an appreciation of human creativity and achievement. At Ashbury Meadow we want to enable pupils to become enquiring, independent learners who are engaged actively in their learning by teachers who facilitate rather than direct. We encourage pupils to ask questions and find answers through project-based learning that takes place both inside and outside of the classroom. We have engaged with Cornerstones Education to provide a curriculum based on four key areas, engage, develop, innovate and express. Please see the links below to find out more about the Cornerstones Curriculum. On the individual year group curriculum overviews, there is no link for term 4. This is the term we do our whole school project-based learning. In Early Years, the curriculum is planned around the children's interests, both within the indoor and outdoor continuous provision, and supported by Cornerstones Early Years ILPs. Please see the files below to access the year group curriculums and supporting Cornerstones documents. Our Governing Body exists to support and challenge the staff at the school and to ensure that our children get an outstanding education that they deserve. It is made up of parents, staff, members of the community, and other co-opted Governors with expertise and experience in education or related fields. We meet twice termly as a Full Governing Body and several sub-committees meet in between those times. E-safety is an integral part of children’s education in today’s digital world and is embedded in their learning at school. We also want to help our parents and children improve their understanding of e-safety issues so they can learn to use the internet and all digital media safely and securely. We must work together as a community to ensure that the internet is a safe space for our children. As a parent you'll know how important the internet is to children - they use it to learn, play, socialize and express themselves. It's a highly creative place of amazing opportunities. But the technology children use every day can seem a bit daunting and you might worry about the risks your child can face online - such as bullying, contact from strangers, or the possibility of them seeing illegal or inappropriate content. The school has close links with the neighboring Manchester City Football Club and benefits greatly from the City in the Community programs, which include healthy lifestyles, disability awareness, cooking, and teaching pupils about money matters. The football club also supports our curriculum by providing physical education coaching for all year groups from year 1-6, out-of-school football, and use of their swimming pool. We can walk across the grounds for tournaments throughout the year.

We provide a flexible schedule of full or half days to suit the individual needs of families. The Preschool program is offered at our Queensway Campus. At Meadow Green Preschool, we believe that a strong foundation in the early years is vital to continue life-long learning and development. We capitalize on the natural curiosity of preschool-age children to provide them with a rich educational experience in a caring and nurturing environment, built on strong Christian values. Meadow Green Preschool provides a balanced program of fun play, skill development, and academics. Realizing that the children are still young, they receive the nurturing and guidance of a loving, Christian teacher. Students are gently guided to join in and explore the social and academic aspects of school. A qualified teacher is dedicated to providing a nurturing, creative and comprehensive learning environment for students beginning at the age of 30 months, with a pupil/ teacher ratio of 8 to 1. A teaching assistant is present beyond the 8 to 1 ratio. Children must be toilet-trained before entering the program. Phonics, pre-reading, beginning math, storytime, physical activity, computers, science, social science, French, and art provide a stimulating program that enables children to develop cognitively in the areas of language/communication and numeracy. Science activities allow children to explore the world around them. French is introduced through play and songs, and children easily assimilate the new sounds and vocabulary of the French language. Our Grade 1-3 programs provide an ideal learning environment in which children’s intellectual potential is nurtured to develop informed, active, and compassionate lifelong learners. Children explore their community and the world around them and develop effective communication, strong reasoning, and abstract thinking skills. Our Language Arts program focuses on oral language skills, listening skills, phonics, word development, spelling, reading comprehension, written language, grammar, and creative writing. Students develop a solid grasp of the English language conventions and the ability to manipulate and use the language to be successful in all areas of learning. They gradually learn to develop and express their opinions and to utilize different and appropriate writing styles. Our Mathematics program covers five main areas: number sense and numeration measurement geometry and spatial sense patterning and algebra and data management and probability. It is designed to help students build on their solid foundation in mathematics, memorize necessary math facts, practice standard mathematical procedures and understand how to apply mathematical concepts in real situations. Our students develop solid problem-solving skills. In the Science program, we teach the importance of hypotheses and observation by doing hands-on science experiments. This multi-sensory approach allows students to master basic scientific knowledge and concepts and practice their skills of inquiry and seeking out information. Science seeks to describe and explain the natural world and our vision is to open the children’s eyes to this world and offer a Christian perspective. Our Social Studies program deals with world communities, landforms, politics, and history. The students master key social science concepts. 4. Our campus in Falls Church, Virginia, is the third in the nationally acclaimed Trinity Schools program. For more than three decades, Trinity Schools have provided a unique culture where young men and women develop the intellectual habits they need for a lifetime of discovering the truth, practicing goodness, and creating beauty. In our core curriculum, we give all of our students signature learning experiences: Socratic seminars on the best of Western literature, the application of the MATLAB computing language to advanced math and science problems, intensive training in writing, with particular focus on the analytic essay, and a wide range of performance opportunities, where all our students compose, sing, paint and act. Our learners' community is coed, but our classes are single-sex, with no more than 20 students per classroom. This maximizes the ability of the individual student to learn well and to develop good friendships. Ours is also an ecumenical Christian culture marked by daily prayer and a moral order deeply rooted in Scripture and Christian tradition. Our ecumenism is a sign of Christian unity and one vital source of our joint mission to serve God and our neighbors. Further, we want our students to possess an ever-increasing knowledge and understanding of reality: how things stand in all inquiry spheres. Additionally, we expect to see and aid in developing a sense of wonder within our students: wonder about reality and a desire to learn more. We want to inculcate within them a love for the truth. About goodness, our goals include that our students desire the good in their own lives and the world. We want them to become morally and spiritually severe persons. Further, we want our students to develop the ability to recognize the good. Finally, we desire that the students appropriate the practices that will produce right in their own lives and the lives of those around them. About beauty, our goals include that the students develop the ability to recognize and love beauty and attain proficiency in the skills required to produce beautiful things in art, music, and drama. We intend for our students, thereby, to develop a love of beauty in its various expressions. In addition to these overarching goals, we also intend that every student develop particular skills and qualities. These include the following: Linguistic literacy: Our students know how language works and can employ it with accuracy and effectiveness. This includes the knowledge of grammar, punctuation, spelling, and other language rules, the ability to formulate a thesis, and defend it. Mathematical literacy: Our students know how mathematics works and are proficient in its use to apply it in scientific settings. This includes the ability to use symbolic manipulation, representation, and abstraction to develop proofs and understanding of formal systems. 5. The words of our school maxim say it all – an inspiring, insistent and positive ‘can do’ mindset that we endeavor to impress upon and instill in our children as they pursue excellence and grow their talent. Throughout their time with us the children develop personal qualities and values through the School’s ‘I Can’ Programme. These qualities include Self Awareness (knowing and valuing themselves) Self-Regulation (ability to manage their feelings) Motivation (working towards goals with persistence, resilience, and optimism) Empathy (awareness of others’ thoughts and feelings), and Social Skills (building and maintaining relationships). The values include courage, determination, and excellence. Besides we expect every learner to achieve at least nationally expected age and stage standards in Reading, Writing, and Mathematics as well as developing wider skills and knowledge through an engaging and motivating curriculum. At Keys Meadow, we constantly look out for and offer opportunities for our children to step out of and ‘grow’ their comfort zones. For example, children in Year 4 are offered the chance to live and work on a farm in Gloucestershire for a week Year 6 can apply to be part of a crew on a sailing voyage in the English Channel all our annual Athletics Days take place at the Olympic standard training facility of the Lea Valley Athletics Centre in 2013 our successful football team represented our school and country at a European tournament in Germany every two years Year 5 and 6 stage their end of year show at a real theatre where they manage the front of the house, lighting, visual effects, sound, props, costumes, stage make-up and marketing the show as well as performing! The children staged Shakespeare’s ‘The Tempest’ at The Millfield Theatre in 2011 and ‘Macbeth’ at The Dugdale Theatre in 2013. We believe these, and other innovative projects like them, help boost aspirations in our pupils, broaden their horizons and raise awareness of their options for the future to maximize their potential. We insist that the quality of teaching at our school is at least good and we are implementing and monitoring a clear plan to ensure all our practice is at this standard or better and is continually improving and developing. The award-winning indoor environment has been designed and set up so that the children feel comfortable, secure, and able to engage and learn effectively. Outside, our impressive grounds provide a variety of spaces creating a range of settings for study, learning, teaching, play, and socialize. Keys Meadow Primary School is committed to providing a challenging, demanding, creative curriculum that responds to the whole child’s physical, social, and emotional as well as intellectual needs. We believe that a strong school ethos (a nurturing climate for learning where excellence is expected from all), an insistent “can do” approach, a belief that ‘talent is grown, not born’, raising self-esteem and positive behavior management are the keys to achievement.
  6. Our pupils enjoy their time at school and the learning that takes place. We offer an exciting curriculum that provides pupils with memorable experiences that stimulate their interest and enrich the learning. We have high expectations for all our pupils and the education we provide ensures that they achieve academic excellence. There is a strong focus on the vital skills of reading, writing, and mathematics, alongside the other areas of the curriculum. We are proud to serve a diverse, multi-cultural, and multi-faith community. Our pupils learn to embrace each other regardless of any differences. Pupils are empowered through developing their self-confidence, resilience, and life skills. We place a great deal of emphasis on each pupil’s overall growth so that they can make a positive contribution to society. “One of the proudest moments each year is when we say goodbye to the Year 6 pupils at the end of the summer term, knowing that they are fully prepared for the next stage of their learning journey.” At Dairy Meadow Primary School we embrace the fact that every child is unique. We are an inclusive school and encourage all children to be tolerant and understanding of the varying needs of others. We take an inclusive approach to teach pupils with SEND and provide for pupils with a wide range of needs and disabilities. Skilled teaching staff, delivering high-quality learning experiences that are appropriately differentiated and personalized, meet the needs of the majority of the pupils in our school. A minority of pupils require an additional special educational provision to meet their needs. The physical education (PE) and sport premium is additional funding provided jointly by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport and goes directly to primary schools to spend on improving the quality of PE and sport for all children. At Dairy Meadow Primary & Nursery School we promote the fundamental British values of: Democracy The rule of law Individual liberty Mutual respect Tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.

View full school
