  1. Greens Farms Academy is an independent day school for grades PreK- 12 located in the Greens Farms area of Westport, CT. Our education is innovative, as well as traditional. It takes place in the classroom, in the ecosystems just outside our doors, and digitally across the globe. This is a great school where, over time, students learn to take ownership of their education and partner with teachers and fellow students to think critically, collaborate, and communicate. GFA engages students as partners in an innovative, inclusive, and globally-minded community to prepare them for a life of purpose. We are proud that "Quisque pro Omnibus — Each for All" is our school motto. From PreK through 12th grade, a sense of responsibility and empathy threads through our community. We know that in these times, young people are grappling with big questions. Our mission is to help students become the best they can be by instilling our core values of passion, integrity, empathy, curiosity, and excellence. Our Philosophy: Partners: Our students collaborate with teachers to develop their voices to effect change, to become lifelong learners who take ownership of their educations, and to have an instinct for self-reflection that builds character and drives improvement. Innovative: Building on a demanding curriculum, our faculty seeks innovative and effective methods to help students cultivate the skills and habits of mind necessary to excel. Inclusive: GFA strives to create a diverse community that values the identities, perspectives, and experiences of all its members. Globally Minded: We empower our students to discover their place in the world and help them to become globally competent citizens engaged in building a sustainable future. Like all independent schools, GFA relies on parents and alumni's generosity to help fund current programs as well as endowment and new facilities. Every year, all members of the GFA community are asked to support Annual Giving. Tuition does not cover the total investment we make in each student. Therefore we rely on Annual Giving to provide approximately 7% of the annual operating budget each year. From time to time, GFA conducts Capital Campaigns to secure funding to achieve significant strategic objectives. For these critical priorities, we rely on the GFA community's philanthropic support of a capital campaign, in addition to their support of Annual Giving. We believe education can be joyful. We invite our students to think big and question often. We challenge our community to embrace new ideas and tap into new sources of strength. We inspire each other to build a better world, grounded in our core values of passion, integrity, empathy, curiosity, and excellence. Students are at the center of everything here, as known and engaged partners in their learning. They take responsibility for and pride in their achievements, define what excellence means for them, and then rise to meet it. GFA offers young people the opportunity to test their limits. They are encouraged and given the flexibility to try it all, developing the confidence to inform the rest of their lives. A palpable sense of excitement seems ever-present as our younger students master a new skill or discover a passion — a process supported by talented educators in an atmosphere of warmth and care. Our 44-acre campus overlooking the Long Island Sound houses three distinct ecosystems — dynamic classrooms for our more than 700 students from PreK–12. Together, we roll up our sleeves, set ambitious goals, and work hard to achieve them. Innovation is not a buzzword at GFA. It is a hallmark, evident in our signature academic programs and a busy new schedule, where thoughtful progress travels alongside nearly a century of academic excellence. Our curriculum emphasizes problem-solving and critical thinking, paired with a deep commitment to developing character and the intentional integration of evidence-based best practices in teaching and learning. GFA cultivates curiosity and prepares students for an evolving world. Our students are ready for big visions, shared solutions, bold responses to human needs, and global challenges. They think critically and present with confidence and poise. A sense of service is fundamental to our students and graduates, reinforced by our motto: Quisque Pro Omnibus or Each for All. At GFA, students develop a passion for learning and are prepared to pursue a life of purpose. We are so pleased that you have discovered GFA and invite you to spend some time exploring our digital home. More importantly, we hope you have a chance to experience GFA in person by scheduling a campus visit. We look forward to getting to know you.
