- Big world vision. Small community culture. Aquinas College offers a dynamic academic experience in a welcoming and supportive Catholic environment. Guided by our outstanding faculty and the Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia Congregation, students study on our beautiful 83-acre campus in Nashville, Tennessee. As a Catholic educational institution, Aquinas College is an ecclesial community that participates in the Church's evangelizing mission. Specifically, it is a ministry of the Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia, a religious institute devoted to the apostolate of Catholic education. Aquinas College's approach to education is unique because it is animated by the charism of the Congregation of St. Cecilia. We are a community of religious women engaged in service to educational institutions of all levels in over 50 schools in 30 dioceses and seven countries. We bring practical experience and dedication to Catholic education that flows from our consecration to God and zeal for the spread of the Gospel. Aquinas College's outstanding lay faculty and staff participate with the sister faculty and staff in the Dominican charism of preaching and the salvation of souls in an environment marked by devotion to Truth and charity. Like our patron, St. Thomas Aquinas, we see Christ as the perfect Teacher: formed by this master Teacher through prayer, study, and community, each of us is thus enabled to teach others. Small in size, and yet big in vision, the students at Aquinas are known as individuals and offered opportunities beyond the mass production of larger schools. The student-teacher ratio and the family atmosphere supports the entire student body and significantly enhances their educational experience. We are concerned with the whole person. To say that Aquinas College is a Catholic school is to understand faith as light rather than restriction. This light is shed on all areas of the curriculum but not in a way that is unnatural, superimposed, or intolerant of other beliefs. Faith and reason are not in opposition, but in actuality, they are considered complementary aspects of reality. Aquinas College is committed to Truth, beauty, and goodness. The foundation of education is more than just a preparation for a career, but indeed a preparation for life. Appreciation for that which is truly beautiful takes cultivation and not just exposure. Recognizing Truth requires that one learn how to learn. Much has been said about life in the information age, but what truly makes us human is our ability to consider information according to rational principles. Appreciation for that which is right and beautiful prepares us for attraction to that which is truly good. When goodness is fully embraced, we find true happiness. Aquinas College is focused. Aquinas College is owned and operated by the Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia Congregation. Their spirit of joyfulness, unity, and dedication to education permeates campus life and the curriculum. There is a unique sense of camaraderie and vision that unifies the faculty and staff. At most colleges, professors are focused within departments or, in some cases moving in multiple directions. The faculty at Aquinas believe in the College's mission and share a deep commitment to her students. They love to teach, as well as to learn. Each year the faculty and staff undertake a group study where they share insights and attend workshops. What results is an understanding, not just of their subject area but of the big picture we are seeking to deliver to each student. The Mission of Aquinas College is unchanging because Truth itself is unchanging. Taking inspiration from St. Dominic and St. Thomas Aquinas, the College exists to serve the Church by transforming lives for the Gospel of Christ. Aquinas College is a Catholic community of learning in the Dominican Tradition with Christ at its center. The College directs all its efforts to the intellectual, moral, spiritual, and professional formation of the human person in wisdom. Students are formed individually and in the Christian community so that the harmonious integration between faith and reason can permeate every dimension of their lives. Immersed in exploring the relationship between human civilization and the message of salvation, the College community embraces the Dominican imperative to preach the Gospel, serve others, and engage culture in Truth and charity. Aquinas College's academic programs are rooted in the Dominican Tradition, a Catholic spiritual and intellectual tradition entering its eighth century. By the inclusion of philosophy and theology in each course of study, the academic programs facilitate the "dialogue between faith and reason. At Aquinas College, we offer something that cannot be measured merely by a catalog of course offerings. Since we are specialists, with a unique focus on the dignity of the human person from an authentic Catholic perspective, we offer something rooted in Someone: the person of Jesus Christ, Who has a plan for each of us. All of the campus resources and activities help our students discover that plan and equip them with the educational, social, and spiritual support they need to respond generously to God's call. - Aquinas University of Legazpi (AUL) is a Catholic higher educational institution in Legazpi City, Albay. It designs, implements, and processes research systems and procedures that bring out results that contribute to the University's various activities. This makes Aquinas University a proficient center of education. The Academic Research Program is guided basically by the vision that "Aquinas University is a reflective community striving for excellence and creativity in the service of God and humanity." It works toward developing the Filipino nation and the Bikol region by enriching both the Filipino and Bikol cultures, promoting human values, and advocating the social uplift of our people. The Program is guided by the research philosophy framed by the DOMNET Research Committee, to wit: "Research should involve the systematic and continuing search for truth based on reason illumined by faith and permeated with Christian values to increase human knowledge and contribute to the development of the human person in harmony with nature." Culture is a way of life. All efforts, actions, endeavors, fields, creations, programs, and thoughts of man define culture. As a matter of the case, these things make culture comprehensive and historical. It can be said that culture is the human spirit. There is a parallel significance between human culture and human nature. Given such connotation, we need to extrapolate on the different perspectives of culture. It can be argued that 1) Culture is a universal and objective consciousness of a particular collectivity 2) Culture is but progressive development of a collective consciousness 3) Culture is static yet dynamic 4) Culture is a series of reconstruction and deconstruction and 5) Culture is both influential and influenced. These views present culture as a totality. Culture is the "mind" (Grecian) that guides and the "spirit" (Romanticist) that moves people. It serves as a principle from which all human actions are directed and pointed towards a certain level of normativity (Kantian) to establish similarity and promote collectivity. Culture becomes a universal and objective consciousness. It is universal because it transcends particularity and elevates the sense of humanity. It is something from which we share and from which we proceed. It is objective because it becomes a fusion of horizons. There arises a common and creative sense of human identity. Regardless of the level of significance and degree of rightness culture brings to people, there is a certain point that culture, however good or evil it becomes, is the foundation of human life and defines man and his humanity. For more than 67 years of grateful passion and devotion to a life of truth and love out of gratitude, Aquinas University of Legazpi has helped the youth and the young professionals of Bicol realize their full potential to soar high and soar beyond. A conducive place for learning - this is how the Aquinas University of Legazpi is best described. Not only will you find competent professors but get the chance to enjoy its facilities both for learning and recreation. The University is continuously upgrading its facilities. Almost all systems and procedures are computerized, enabling Aquinas to offer high-quality education in a peaceful and secure atmosphere. The Aquinas University of Legazpi welcomes all international students in our Cultural Exchange Program. - The Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas (Angelicum) is a Dominican institution in Rome's heart. It contains Faculties of Theology, Philosophy, Canon Law, and Social Sciences. The roots of the Angelicum reach the medieval Dominican house of studies in Rome, founded in the XIII century, in which Aquinas taught. It presently offers education in Italian and English for students of about 100 different nationalities. The Angelicum collaborates with academic institutions from all over the world. Among its illustrious students belongs Karol Wojtyła, Saint John Paul II. The Angelicum offers a university education where faith and reason work together. It forms students as virtuous leaders, capable of evangelization and promoting integral human development. Illuminating the present by the wisdom of St. Thomas Aquinas, students, professors, and staff share in Dominican study, prayer, community, and preaching. From the Apostolic Letter "Motu Proprio" Dominicianus Ordo from St. John XIII, in which he honored with the title of Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas in Rome, the then International Pontifical Athenaeum Angelicum As to assure an adequate doctrinal formation in universities and religious houses of formation and in order to fulfill our desire that the doctrine of Thomas Aquinas be deepened as a treasure for the development of the Christian life and his writings be made accessible to all since they continue to be relevant to our times and since we are convinced that if the study of the doctrines of the Angelic Doctor continues to be advanced, they will fulfill the determinations of the Fathers of the Second Vatican Council after carefully examining the matter, motu proprio. We decree and promulgate that our apostolic authority designates the International Pontifical Athenaeum Angelicum, legitimately erected and entrusted to the Order of Preachers, now and posterity as the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas in Rome. The Angelicum is a Dominican University, founded by Order of Friars Preachers to express the Order's Gospel charism of preaching and teaching the Truth of Jesus Christ to all nations. Like the Angelic Doctor himself, today's students learn by opening the classic books of revelation, nature, and experience, which discloses the inner book of the Church's living Tradition, a Tradition of God's Word made flesh and dwelling amongst us. As a Dominican University, we were founded by order of Preachers to give expression to the Order's gospel charism of preaching and teaching the Truth of Jesus Christ to all nations, focusing on the "Four Pillars" for the Order: Rooted in the personal and professional relationship between professors and students. Opening our hearts and minds to pursue and receive the Truth that is Jesus Christ through contemplation. Focused more on the assimilation of wisdom than on the multiplication of knowledge. Through the mastering of the charity of Truth prepared to teach, bear witness, and serve. Community:- Prayer:- Study:- Preach:- The Dominicans who direct the University seek to continue in the same spirit of Truth of St. Dominic and these Four Priorities and Five Frontiers. Inspired by the great doctor saints of the Order –SS. Albert the Great, Thomas Aquinas, and Catherine of Siena – we aim to penetrate the Truth of Jesus Christ and discover and preach that harmony between faith and reason that our broken world needs today.

Equip our students to become productive members of the Church and society and willingly perform their religious and civil duties. Help our students turn their hearts and souls into what makes life worth living and what is right, good, generous, and beautiful. Each school has something that makes it different from another. Why are parents more inclined to send their children to one particular school rather than another? Because of what it offers, its way of teaching, its way of life. In one word: its philosophy. What is the philosophy of St. Thomas Aquinas College? Its philosophy could be illustrated by the example of the great Englishman that was Saint Thomas More. Saint Thomas is a model of a perfect father who works in his family and children's best interest. Indeed, with his children, Saint Thomas made sure that they received a complete education, religious and profane, an education that helps them develop all their potential. A loving father he was, he drew the best out of his children to achieve happiness. Our school has the same goal. It is committed to helping the students to develop all their qualities and God-given talents. By this means, it is also committed to assisting the parents in their education, which is nothing else than preparing their children to be serious and responsible adults.
- Aquinas College is a Catholic day/boarding school for boys from Kindergarten to Year 12 in the Edmund Rice tradition. We are one of Australia's oldest and most distinguished schools specializing in young men's formation and offers a liberating education based on gospel spirituality within an inclusive community committed to justice, advocacy, and service. Importantly, in partnership with parents, Aquinas College aims through a Christ-centred curriculum, to develop young men of faith, good character, strong intellect, and generous spirit, who will be able to move confidently into the world and who will use their talents and gifts to lead and serve others. Our four tenets of scholarly attainment, spiritual awareness, character formation, and solidarity with others remain at the core of day-to-day activities. Aquinas College is a strong academic school with subjects, teaching styles, and activities that are boy focussed. While subjects are important within themselves, their real value lies in helping each student discover and develop his inner spirit and strength of character – his heart and soul. Creating a moral compass for life, learning about himself, and making a difference is as important as what he learns inside the classroom. We believe success is not what he becomes, but whom he becomes. We are proud of our pupils' successes. We are dedicated to celebrating achievement, creativity, and effort across a vast range of academic and co-curricular pursuits. Our appeal as a school rests in our strong sense of faith community, the values we strive to maintain, our commitment to realizing the potential of every young man in our care, and in providing a balanced education that addresses the academic, social, emotional, physical and spiritual aspects of our pupils' lives. We have the highest expectations for all of our pupils. Our aim is for each to be the best he can be in all that he does. To demonstrate outstanding attendance levels, appearance, courtesy, respect, and work ethic throughout his time at the school. As you browse through this site, and we hope that you will take the time to do so, you will discover that the College's spirit and atmosphere at Mt Henry are unique. To be part of the Aquinas College family, either as a boy or Old Boy, is a life's calling to be the best one can be and accept the responsibility not merely to be successful personally but also to ensure our giftedness success enriches and benefits the lives of others. We welcome all new students and their parents to become part of our school community and share in the realization of our vision for others, and we commit to supporting your son in his journey from boyhood to the young gentleman. The heart of Aquinas College's mission is to form leaders for tomorrow through a life of service based on Christ in the Gospel. Our five values of Faith, Justice, Service, Respect, and Excellence underpin daily life at the College. Aquinas College is a Catholic school for boys in the Edmund Rice tradition. It is a member of Edmund Rice Education Australia (EREA), which encompasses all schools with Christian Brothers' heritage. The College acknowledges the significant contribution Christian Brothers have made to Aquinas' traditions since 1894. In the tradition of Blessed Edmund Rice, Aquinas College is committed to fulfilling his vision of providing a Catholic education based on four tenets of Scholarly attainment Spiritual awareness Character formation Solidarity with others Aquinas College aims to educate boys to be the best they can be… for others. As a member of the EREA, Aquinas College is guided by its charter, which identifies four touchstones linked with the charism of Blessed Edmund Rice and which underpin the ministry of the College. Touchstones, which offer a Liberating Education based on a Gospel Spirituality, within an Inclusive Community committed to Justice and Solidarity, guide College direction and define goals, following Blessed Edmund's example. The Aquinas College motto – 'Veritas Vincit' (Truth Conquers) – is at the College's heart. Respect is given to traditional indigenous owners of the land, which is now the College campus. Aquinas College sees itself not as a boys' school but rather a school for boys. As a school for boys, Aquinas focuses on: Learning styles that are great for boys – boys learn well when they can do their learning visually or practically. Understanding that boys usually like to be active and can move. Accepting that boys develop both language and fine motor skills later than girls and removing the unnecessary comparison between genders. Boys can engage in a breadth of subject offerings and interest areas that may not be so readily possible in coeducational environments such as the creative and performing arts domains. Providing an environment and culture that celebrates boys learning and character formation that is specifically targeted to boys' development. Allowing boys to have great male role models in the form of teachers, coaches, and mentors that work with them in the classroom and beyond. Opportunities for boys to form critical friendship bases that serve them well into their lives beyond the campus. Offering a faith experience that is boy-centric in its approach and outcomes. Boys need to have clear, unambiguous boundaries in which they operate that do not inhibit their sense of creativity and inspire them to be good men for others.

- Thomas Aquinas College believes that to learn is to discover and grow in the truth about reality. It is the truth, and nothing less, that sets men free. And because the truth is both natural and supernatural, the College offers an academic program that aims at both natural and divine wisdom. This curriculum presents the arts and sciences of liberal education as a comprehensive whole. There are no majors, no minors, no electives, and no specializations. The four-year interdisciplinary course of study uses the original writings of the great philosophers, historians, mathematicians, poets, scientists, and theologians of the West. Homer, Herodotus, Plato, Euclid, Aristotle, St. Augustine, Shakespeare, Einstein, and especially St. Thomas Aquinas are among the authors. There are no textbooks. There are also no lectures in the classroom. The curriculum is a sustained conversation in the form of tutorials, seminars, and laboratories guided by tutors who assist students in reading, analyzing, and evaluating these great books. Students develop the lost tools of inquiry, argument, and translation — in critically reading and analyzing texts, in the mathematical demonstration, and laboratory investigation. Equipped with these tools, the graduates are fortified to undertake any study, professional training, or vocation. Grounded in the arts of thinking and with a broad, integrated vision of the whole of life and learning, every subject becomes an open door. Even more critical, alumni are prepared to live well the free citizen and the Christian's life. Thomas Aquinas College is committed to making its program of Catholic liberal education available to accepted students, regardless of financial need. The College receives no subsidy from Church or state. Instead, it relies on contributions from individuals and charitable foundations to make up the difference between what students can pay and the actual cost of their education. Through its donors' generosity, the College can offer financial assistance to young men and women who would otherwise not be able to attend. Nevertheless, the financial resources of the College are limited, and financial aid can be offered only based on demonstrated financial need as determined by the College. Therefore, students and families are expected to make a maximum effort to cover the cost of tuition plus room and board from their resources. If, after assessing his resources, a student finds his financial means insufficient, he should apply to the Financial Aid Office for assistance. The College will meet each student's financial need with a program of loans, Service Scholarship (work-study), and grants. Learning at Thomas Aquinas College is geared toward the education of the whole person, and as such, it is not limited to the confines of the classroom. The Socratic discussions that begin in class spill into the dining commons, the quad, and the residence halls. Concerts and lectures are held on campus throughout the year. The Faith, which informs all classroom learning, manifests itself in every other facet of campus living and daily Mass and adoration to evening rosary and processions. Students can also refresh their minds, their bodies, and their souls through several extracurricular activities. Chief among these are the College's music, theater, and sports programs, but there are others as well. The College employs two student athletic directors who organize the intramural sports schedule throughout the year. Two student activity directors organize on-campus events, including dances, open-mic nights, movies, food drives, and retreats. There are also various student-run organizations such as the de Tocqueville Society (politics), the Pre-Medical Society, a pro-life group, and the Legion of Mary. The life of the College, however, extends not only beyond the classroom but beyond the campus. Students have the great blessing of living in Southern California with its beaches, mountains, and more. Because the College borders the Los Padres National Forest, hiking is a popular activity, as are outings to the ocean, Santa Barbara, and the more refined cultural offerings of Los Angeles. In addition to studying and prayer, there is always something to do at Thomas Aquinas College — something worthwhile, something fulfilling, and something geared toward ever-greater spiritual and intellectual growth. Here beauty, goodness, and truth are indeed one. Thomas Aquinas College came into being in the late 1960s and early 1970s, during a great tumult in the United States that profoundly affected its institutions and its mores. The College's founders, a seasoned group of lay Catholic educators, were concerned about the declining condition of higher education and, in particular, Catholic higher education. Thus, amid this great turmoil and disintegration, and despite the dominant relativism and skepticism in higher education, Thomas Aquinas College came to life. This new College would be dedicated to renewing what is best in the Western intellectual heritage and conducting liberal education under the guiding light of the Catholic Faith. The College welcomed its first freshman class in 1971, and it has remained faithful to its founding mission ever since. View full university

View full school
We also recommend checking with local organizations, businesses, and even your parent's employer. We encourage students to apply for as many scholarships as they are eligible for and continue applying even after being enrolled and attending school. Our list of scholarships includes some popular options our students have applied for in the past, but there are scholarships for all kinds of interests and accomplishments, so keep searching. View full school

Known as the Dominican University of Bicol, AUL can trace her beginning on June 8, 1948, when Don Buenaventura de Erquiaga opened the portals of Legazpi Junior Colleges at a modest site with a two-story building on corner Rizal and Mabini Streets in the port district of Legazpi City. About two years later, the school had already expanded to the AUL downtown campus along Peñaranda and Gov. Forbes Streets, this time renamed Legazpi College. It offered elementary, secondary, vocational, tertiary, and graduate studies. AUL offers pre-elementary, elementary, and high school (General Curriculum, Special Program in the Arts, and PAASCU Level III-candidate Science High School), and twenty-three (23) programs (in the College of Arts, Sciences and Education College of Business Management and Accountancy College of Health Sciences and College of Engineering, Architecture and Fine Arts), the newest of which are the UST-supervised BS Pharmacy and BS Medical Technology.

The process of identifying and applying for different forms of financial aid may feel confusing, but it does not need to be. Our team is here to walk you through the process with helpful information and guidance. The first step is to understand the difference between scholarships and grants better. Most students use a combination of both to help pay for their college education. Scholarships are a form of merit-based financial aid that does not need to be repaid. These can be awarded by a non-profit, a local business, or even an individual. Your high school guidance office should have a list of local scholarships available.
