  1. To provide authentic international education to foster an enthusiasm to explore and the security to pursue individual goals. As a growth-oriented school, we aim to cultivate highly skilled and responsible global citizens rooted in our local community. Gjøvikregionen International School (GIS) is a young international school, which opened in August 2015. We have grown rapidly from 30 students in 2015 to 164 students this academic year (2019/2020), with waiting lists in several grade levels. Located nearby of NTNU, GIS became an IB World School offering the IB Primary Years Programme in July 2018 and IB Middle Years Programme in June 2019. Our graduates will be well prepared to continue their education in the IB Diploma Programme at any IB school in the world, including Gjøvik High School. GIS offers an international education in English to children of all nationalities. It is open to students who want to be part of a stimulating learning environment, promoting investigation, creativity, and inquiry. We currently offer PYP from Grades 1-6 and MYP from Grade 7-10. Our graduates will be well prepared to continue their education in the IB Diploma Programme at any IB school in the world, including Gjøvik High School. School fees are set by the GIS Board and adjusted every year. Currently (2019/2020), they are 2,500NOK a month (Grades 1-7) and 2700 (Grades 8-10), charged 11 times a year. The fee includes tuition as well as school supplies but not childcare. Invoices are issued monthly. GIS offers a 25% discount to a second, third, and so on a child from the same family enrolled in our school to widen access to the international education we offer. The discount is calculated automatically and parents are not required to apply for it. GIS offers an international education in English to children of all nationalities.
