Our curriculum includes specialist teaching in art, music, computing, modern foreign languages, Philosophy for Children (P4C), and P.E. This remarkable provision ensures that our children develop a love of learning and become well-rounded individuals with a very wide range of skills. This aspiration and ambition underpin everything and our values-based ethos gives our children a strong sense of purpose. Our location means that we are uniquely situated to get the very best opportunities for our children: we are near vast, green open spaces minutes away from the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford and we have easy access to all the galleries, museums, and theatres that London has to offer.
As proud members of the Griffin Schools Trust, a family of schools, and a supportive network of educational expertise, we work very closely with other schools locally and nationally. Our annual Griffin Arts Festival is well established and a beacon of excellence for the arts. Our school is a stunning mix of old and new and our bright and well-resourced learning spaces are exceptional. We are steeped in history, yet our school is light, bright, and modern.
As our school motto states, Ad Altiora Tendo – We Strive for Higher Things and we do reach for the stars. Come and visit the school and meet our dedicated staff and fantastic children. Everyone wants to be a part of it.
‘The lively atmosphere and the buzz of activity in the school reflect the pupils’ real enthusiasm for learning. Pupils enjoy coming to a school where they are encouraged to aim high.’Willow Brook Primary has developed a creative curriculum and delivers a thematic, topic-based curriculum for pupils from Early Years to Year 6.
We have specialist teaching in Art, Music, IT, Modern Foreign Languages and P.E. and these subjects are also integrated into our cross-curricular lessons. Our themes are varied and exciting and include topics such as Earth and Space, Tudor Times, Inventors, and Africa. Our partnerships include working with Enabling Enterprise and this ensures that all pupils take part in an enterprise project across the year. Our corridor displays promote our thematic approach and are inspirational, celebratory, and foster a love of learning.
