The International Islamic School (IIS) was established in September 1998 and was located then at Batu 14, Jalan Gombak. It was the fruit of years of study by Muslim scholars from various parts of the world who taught in the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) who thirst for a model integrated Islamic school that could serve their children and also those of others, especially Muslim expatriates.
Through the Malaysian National Curriculum and the Cambridge International Curriculum which are being implemented in Sekolah Setiabudi (Setiabudi) and International Islamic School Malaysia (IISM) respectively, coupled with various Islamic programs, ISSB manages to attract a large number of students both locally and internationally. By establishing IISM Kuantan Branch in September 2013, the company is moving forward to have more branches all over Malaysia.
Our schools have the best attributes of private institutions, i.e., small class sizes, stressing high academic performance, trained and experienced teachers, providing high-quality programs, and having state-of-the-art school facilities. As the Company managing private schools, international schools, and A-Levels programs in the Klang Valley, ILESB is far more affordable than others comparatively.
The purpose of the Business Plan for the fiscal year 2016 is for the Company to plan and strategize actions in our quest to bring the Company to a greater height. ILESB will be more aggressive to directly compete with its competitors by improving and upgrading the teaching and learning system, staff qualifications and skills as well as facilities including more extensive usage of ICT in the delivery of lessons.
International Islamic School Malaysia (IISM) and Sekolah Setiabudi (SS), have been operating in the tranquil area of Gombak which is located in the suburbs of Kuala Lumpur since the year 1998 (IISM), 2000 (SS Primary), and 2005 (SS Secondary). With a humble start of 30 students in 1998, the numbers of students enrolled in early 2014 have multiplied to 1800 students that come from 47 countries including Malaysia. The positive increment of students enrollment indicates that the academic and non-academic teams have their strengths to get the quality of these campuses up to par with the international standards which not only enables each campus to remain its good reputation until today but to pursue and expand the market shortly.
Both of the schools have provided a conducive learning environment that promotes the schools’ vision and missions in a way of educating and inspiring each youth to become a thoughtful, independent, plus, well-rounded individual along with good academic performance and personality. Here, the greater emphasis on Islamic values and perspectives have been applied in the formal education, i.e., the Hikmah program, and the informal education which happens outside the classroom, for instance, Congregational Prayers, Usrah, Ibadah Camps, Tahfeez program etcetera. Our curricula are constantly being monitored by teams of educators from the Kulliyyah of Education, International Islamic University Malaysia to preserve the state of the art of teaching methodology and curricular contents.
With the understanding that young people tend to have a greater desire for outdoor activities, comprehensive facilities for the sport and games are available in our school compounds such as swimming pool, football field, futsal pitch, basketball and badminton courts, plus, archery and fencing equipment. Besides, almost all the classes have been equipped with ICT facilities apart from computer and science laboratories.
