United Indian School, established in 1985 stands head held high in the heart of Abbassia in Kuwait. Having carved a niche for itself in the educational arena in Kuwait, the school is one of the biggest and the best among the CBSE schools in Kuwait. Serving about 6300 students, the school seeks to provide an integrated program in training the intellect, body, and spirit of every child under its care.
UIS is recognized by the Ministry of Education of Kuwait and is affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, India. It prepares students for the All India Secondary School Examination (AISSE) and the All India Senior School Certificate Examination(AISSCE).
The medium of instruction is English with Hindi as the second language. From Std IX, French is also offered in place of Hindi. Arabic is taught from Std 1.
We at UIS seek to impart knowledge with the full conviction that true knowledge is divine and that only such knowledge will lead to the holistic development of a child. UIS aspires to help in the process of building the character of her students by giving them strong moral values. An edifice on a strong foundation stands tall and strong when everything around it crumbles and decays. Therefore we strive to lay strong foundations in the lives of our students who will in turn enrich their communities and society at large.
The school Motto is ‘Knowledge is Divine’. We believe that however much knowledge we acquire, human knowledge is always incomplete and imperfect. Only God is omniscient. We do believe that knowledge without application is of no use. We also believe that one must not be proud of one’s knowledge but the more knowledge we gain the more humble we should become.
Extra-curricular activities are a part and parcel of life at UIS. Apart from sports, students are encouraged to take part in elocutions, debates, declamations, recitation, vocal and instrumental music, art, drama, collage making, handwriting competitions, storytelling, fancy dress, etc. Inter-house competitions allow everyone to participate. House-wise display boards provide students with the opportunity to display their artwork, poems articles, etc. Rangoli, Pookalam, Patriotic Song, and folk dance, one-act plays are some of our regular features. Mathematics, Science, and General Knowledge quizzes are held frequently. Talent shows are organized before the summer break each year.
