Sharm International British School provides high-quality education for students aged between two and fifteen years old, in a stimulating, caring, and quality learning environment. We teach the full English curriculum (English, Mathematics, Science, etc) with additional Arabic and Islamic studies.
Instruction through the school is led by fully qualified and experienced teachers from the UK, who are English native language speakers, supported by teaching assistants. Student numbers in each class are small, providing excellent teacher-to-student ratios, allowing us to maximize teaching time and meet the needs of individual children. Moreover, our specialist teaching of languages, ICT, and PE ensures that the students benefit from the highest levels of input at all times.
The school is registered, under the name of the Sharm el-sheik Society for Cultural Care, with the Egyptian Ministry of Social Affairs as a non-profit entity. In April 2016, Sharm International British School gained accreditation from the British Council and became a registered Cambridge Associate School. Following this, the school was granted a license from the Egyptian Ministry of Education, making us fully accredited.
The mission of Sharm International British School is to provide a supportive and caring environment for all its students. Children are encouraged to reach their full academic potential and be enabled to develop physically, spiritually, morally, creatively, and socially. A love of learning and positive self-image is highly valued, as are independence and responsibility. The School ethos is underpinned by respect and appreciation for the variety of beliefs and cultures within our international community, as well as a pride in our British identity.
The English curriculum is broad and balanced and provides for the academic, moral, physical, creative, personal, and social development of every child. Children are taught in small classes, by fully qualified British teachers who deliver the curriculum in the English language. Some year groups are currently combined due to low student numbers. We anticipate that this will change next year as student numbers increase, giving us the funds to employ individual teachers for most year groups.
Specialist subjects are taught by different teachers, who are all qualified in their particular field of teaching. The school follows the National Curriculum for England and Wales, together with the Cambridge International curriculum, to ensure consistency throughout the whole school.
