Selecting an education program for your child is one of the most important decisions you will ever make. In a world that is rapidly becoming more competitive, your child must be adequately prepared for his/her future. Our school has developed specific characteristics to accomplish this goal. One such feature is the structure of our learning centers. By combining ages and abilities, the more gifted students are challenged with an expanded curriculum. At the same time, the other students are motivated by contact with the more gifted.

We also stress the importance of a low student/teacher ratio, which translates into more "one on one" interaction between staff members and students. We strive to instill in your child knowledge and practice of basic Biblical and moral principles and encourage students as individuals to develop personal relationships with our Lord. We are also convinced of the importance of parental involvement and recognize the benefits of the parent-teacher-student relationship being developed successfully.

Whether you are looking to place your child into his/her first school setting or are dissatisfied with alternative school programs, we invite you to come and see for yourself what a difference time, dedication, and perseverance can make in the life of a child. We ensure that you will be impressed by a friendly, open school and guarantee that your visit will leave you with confidence that a child in our care is a child in good hands.

Sherwood Hills Christian School (SHCS) aims to provide a solid Christian education in a nurturing environment, directed by professional, godly educators. Our staff serves as role models to facilitate academic, physical, social, emotional, and spiritual growth. We desire to educate each student in all areas of academic achievement and to fulfill the biblical admonition found in Proverbs 22:6 "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it."

Sherwood Hills Christian School assists parents in fulfilling their Biblical responsibilities for their children. The home, church, and school form a tripod of influence in the child's life. These three must be in harmony. Christian parents enroll their children to reinforce the teaching of the home and church. The salvation and discipleship of each child are critical objectives of the school. Sherwood Hills Christian school ministers to the whole child

    • Spiritually: Recognising that God's Word is the foundation for all of life, SHCS seeks to lead children into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Daily Bible readings and emphasis on practical Christian living provide a robust spiritual framework.
    • Academically: SHCS strives for academic excellence. Standardized achievement tests show that SHCS students score above the national average in all academic areas.
    • Emotionally: Dedicated teachers who are interested in their students' needs help the child grow with a sense of security and self-worth. The stability provided by the spiritual aspect helps students maturely meet the challenges of learning and living.
    • Socially: How students relate to each other and their parents and teachers emphasize SHCS. Christian ethics not only encourages personal spiritual growth but healthy social growth as well.
    • Physically: SHCS understands the physical needs of the child. They work with the parent to help the child mature: to be healthy and strong.
