Macquarie Anglican Grammar School is an independent Pre-Kinder to Year 12 school in Dubbo with approximately 530 students. It is a part of The Anglican Schools Corporation (TASC), which currently owns and operates 19 schools within NSW. Macquarie is strategically placed to provide high-quality education for the Dubbo families and central west regions of NSW. Macquarie has developed an enviable reputation for its standards and achievements, emphasizing academic excellence, pastoral care, co-curricular engagement, and faith and values.

Macquarie Anglican Grammar School has a rich and vibrant community with active participation from students, teachers, and parents in a full and varied program of activities. Macquarie is an exciting place to be.

Our students find meaning, purpose, and a sense of belonging when active participants in the school community. When these commodities are in short supply, our students need more than ever to experience what it means to be a part of a caring Christian community and to understand and appreciate their responsibilities as members of that community. Vision Growing a school of excellence and care, honoring God through teaching, learning, and service to others. Mission To develop resilient young people who make a difference in the world within a high quality, affordable, Christ-centred education.

Children attending Pre-Kindergarten will be provided with opportunities to develop skills by cooperatively working with others and participating in activities that build on their abilities and interests in a supportive academic environment.

Pre-Kindergarten provides a strong foundation for a student’s success at school by developing:

    • A positive attitude towards learning
    • Early Literacy skills (written expression, book and print awareness, motivation to learn to read, language skills)
    • Early Numeracy skills (number recognition, one to one counting, shape recognition and manipulation, the formation of numbers)
    • Experimental Science skills
    • Creative experiences including Drama and Visual Arts
    • Thinking and problem-solving skills
    • Independence and confidence
    • Physical abilities including fine and gross motor skills

The Pre-Kindergarten program will use educational and developmental foundations that are research-based for quality outcomes that best prepare students for Kindergarten. Daily activities will use various settings, including whole-class activities, working in small groups, and individual interactions with the teacher. Opportunities to learn in the classroom and an outside environment will provide an enriched educational environment.

The Macquarie Pre-Kindergarten Program will build trusting relationships with families that respect and support each unique home environment. Families will be provided with opportunities to exchange information about a child’s strengths and learning achievements through regular teacher communication.
