Green Point Christian College was birthed in 1982 out of the Vision of Green Point Baptist Church when a small group of parents committed to a journey that culminated in a thriving Christian College with over 1,000 students and waiting lists strong demand for places at the College.
The foundation upon which this College has been built is the Word of God, as set out in the Bible. We believe that the absolute truths expressed in God'sGod's Word can provide a stable framework around which young people can build their lives. We are keen to connect with families who share the belief that Christian values are worth preserving and who want their children to be exposed to these values during the formative years of their lives.
Green Point Christian College is committed to providing quality education at an affordable price. The College Board has developed infrastructure to enable the College'sCollege's teaching programs to keep pace with rapid educational change. Our technology resources are impressive, and they are available to all students. The CurriculumCurriculum followed in Infants and Primary is one that will prepare students for entry to Secondary School. Integrated through the CurriculumCurriculum is the ethos of the Christian Teacher and a Christian world view. All students are involved in a Music Appreciation program taught by specialist Music Teachers. Students also study Computers, a Language (Japanese) with a specialist Language Teacher and participate in a Library lesson with the Junior School Librarian.
Our College follows the guidelines of the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) in all matters of CurriculumCurriculum. The students sit for the external examinations at the end of Year 12 – the Higher School Certificate. Within the standard guidelines set out by NESA, there is freedom for each school to design, in part, its CurriculumCurriculum. As with the Junior School, all subjects are taught from a Christian perspective by Christian teachers.
In Years 9 and 10 and the core subjects of English, Maths, and Science, all students must study PDHPE, History, and Geography, and choose two elective subjects. In Years 11 and 12, all topics are elective except English, although students must choose a balanced study pattern. The elective subjects offered for the current year are listed under Senior School.
