St. John the Baptist is one of eight schools within the Primary Advantage Federation which is overseen by Executive Head Sian Davies. Fiona Judge, our Executive Headteacher, and Lucy Blewett, our Head of School are supported by a strong Senior Leadership Team. The Senior Team acts as the point of contact for parents, children, and staff. We are a Church of England school and pride ourselves on our strong Christian ethos and strong links with St John’s Church Hoxton. Many of our children join St John the Baptist in the Nursery, aged three. A place in the Nursery does not guarantee a place in the main school, however. We encourage all our families with children in nursery to apply for a place in our Reception. Children meeting the local authority’s entry requirements move on to Reception. As we have two classes in Reception, we do have places for children who do not attend our nursery. The Hackney Learning Trust is responsible for setting the admission arrangements for all schools for which they are the Admission Authority – that is, community and voluntary controlled schools in the borough. For voluntary-aided schools, academies, foundation schools, or free schools each school governing body or Academy Trust is their admission authority. From time to time, we also have vacancies in other year groups. To apply for a place for one of our Years 1 to 6 classes, parents need to go to the Hackney Learning Trust to fill out a mid-term transfer form. We encourage visits to the school for prospective families. Our approach is underpinned by our strong Christian ethos. We aim to help children learn to love and forgive each other and aspire to be the best they can be, rejoicing in their success and the success of others. We developed a curriculum at St John the Baptist which ensures children have a broad range of knowledge, skills, and understanding. Above all, we try to ensure they enjoy their learning and make progress. Assessing how children progress against the requirements of the National Curriculum informs teacher planning. Our curriculum is designed to inspire and motivate pupils while providing for their academic, moral, physical, creative, personal, and social development. Children learn through a careful balance of specific teaching programs and a topic-based approach. From the Foundation Stage through to Key Stage 2 we recognize the importance of making links across the curriculum. Lessons are designed to ensure pupils acquire knowledge and skills and have opportunities to practice and apply their skills in a range of contexts. We encourage co-operative work, talk, discussion and above all, enjoyment as vehicles for learning in all subjects. Keeping ourselves safe on the internet is very important. One of the things which help us to stay safe all year round is our team of Digital Leaders. Our Digital Leaders are a fantastic asset to the school community. A Digital Leader is a pupil who is part of a Digital Leaders Team within a school. Their role is to support the use and further the development of ICT in schools. We do lots of activities at St John the Baptist to help us stay safe. For example, we have an annual online safety week. During online safety Week, we held a parent workshop where we discussed how to be safe on social media and how to be safe online. All parents who attended the workshop said they found the session very useful. This year during Online Safety week, we participated in supporting Safer Internet Day.

Primary School, we passionately believe that our children have the right to a broad and balanced curriculum. A curriculum that enables our pupils to be successful whilst enjoying learning, take an active part in their learning, make excellent progress and achieve well. Our curriculum integrates the requirements of the 2014 National Curriculum in a bespoke and engaging way. We firmly believe that an engaging and inspirational and creative curriculum can foster curiosity, a real passion, and a love for learning so that children may feel valued and develop into life-long learners, responsible citizens who make a positive contribution to society. The curriculum is underpinned by a play-based approach where children have access to all areas of learning within the classroom and in the outside learning area. The Parents, Teachers, and Friends Association is open to anyone who is a Parent, Carer, or Teacher who would like to contribute to the wider life of the school. We provide volunteers and resources to school events like the origami club, Christmas Fair, International Day, Easter Disco, and Summer Fun Day. Our after-school picnics and family film nights have been a great success and enjoyed by all who attended, as were our annual Christmas and Summer bazaars, respectively. These events are great fun, with everyone pitching in to help, and they strengthen our school community as well as getting a lot done and raising money for the school in the process. To report a child's absence, you need to call the school no later than 9.15 am and either speak to a member of the admin team or use the automated attendant and leave a message on the pupil absence voicemail. When leaving a voicemail message, clearly state your name, your child's name, their class, and the reason for your absence. If your child is unwell for more than one day, you will need to phone the school each day your child is not well enough to attend school. We cannot assume that if your child is unwell and off school, that they automatically will be absent the following day.

St. John Lloyd Catholic Comprehensive School is a mixed 11 – 16 school serving the communities of Llanelli, Carmarthen, Ammanford, and surrounding areas. St John Fisher is a voluntary-aided school, which provides a Catholic education for girls and boys from three to eleven years of age. Most children attend the Nursery as part-time pupils before joining a Reception class in the main school, in the year of their fifth birthday. The school exists primarily to serve the Catholic community in particular, the children of Catholic families who live or worship in the parish of St John Fisher and surrounding parishes. However, the Governing Body welcomes applications, subject to the availability of places, from those of other denominations and faiths who support the religious ethos of the school. The school is the St John Fisher Parish School. Priests, Catechists, and staff work together to create links between school and parish, both spiritual and social. The priests visit the school regularly, celebrate Mass, and lead liturgical services for the children. The Deacon and parish sister are also regular visitors. Preparation for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Communion is undertaken with Y3 children chiefly in their parishes with the support of class teaching in school. The National Curriculum lies at the heart of what is taught at St John Fisher School. The executive board for the trust delegates most of its responsibilities to the Local Governing Body of the school. It is the responsibility of the Headteacher to implement the school anti-bullying strategy and to ensure that ALL staff are aware of the school policy and know how to deal with incidents of bullying. The Headteacher reports to the Governing Body about the effectiveness of the antibullying policy at every Governors Meeting. The Headteacher ensures that all children know that bullying is wrong and that it is unacceptable behavior in school. Democracy is a key to our organization within school. Pupils have the opportunity to have their voices heard through our School Council, pupil questionnaires, and circle time, and “the talk team”. The elections of the positions of head boy, head girl, deputy head boy, deputy head girl, and the school House Captains, as well as the pupil parliament, take place each year. Candidates are asked to write and then give a speech as to why they wish to be considered for specific positions. Children and staff then vote for their preferred candidate. These post-holders ensure that the voice of the pupils is heard and listened to throughout the year. Children who hold these positions are actively involved in leading assemblies each week. The importance of Laws, whether they be those that govern the class, the school, or the country, are consistently reinforced throughout regular school days, as well as when dealing with behavior and through school assemblies. Pupils are taught the value and reasons behind laws, that they govern and protect us, the responsibilities that this involves, and the consequences when laws are broken. E-safety is an integral part of children’s education in today’s digital world and is embedded in their learning at school. We also want to help our parents and children improve their understanding of e-safety issues so they can learn to use the internet and all digital media safely and securely. As a parent you’ll know how important the internet is to children – they use it to learn, play, socialize and express themselves. It’s a highly creative place of amazing opportunities. But the technology children use every day can seem a bit daunting and you might worry about the risks your child can face online – such as bullying, contact from strangers, or the possibility of them seeing illegal or inappropriate content. All governing bodies of maintained schools and maintained nursery schools and the proprietors of academy schools have a legal duty to publish information on their website about the implementation of the governing body‟s or the proprietor's policy for pupils with SEND.

St John Evangelist School continues to serve the community of St John the Evangelist Parish. It has a vibrant and eclectic intake as it did when the school was first established. The Catholic community of Islington includes immigrants, both new and old, from across Europe, Africa, South America, Asia, and the Caribbean and they continue to send their children and grandchildren to the school. We have served and educated a very similar community for 180 years and hopefully will continue to do so for many years to come.

St John Bosco is a Roman Catholic Primary School provided by Manchester LEA as a voluntary aided primary school. Governing bodies are responsible for setting the strategic direction of the school. This includes the establishment, monitoring, and evaluation of school policies including a policy for medicines. In developing school policies Governing Bodies should take into account the views of parents/carers, the staff, and the Headteacher and ensure that the policy supports all pupils to attend school wherever possible. Staff, including supply staff, must always be informed of a child’s medical needs where this is relevant and of any changes to their needs as and when they might arise. All staff will be informed of the designated person(s) with responsibility for medical care, which at St John Bosco School is the headteacher. The Headteacher, or, in their absence, the authorized member of senior staff (deputy Headteacher or SENCo), has the ultimate responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people goes beyond implementing basic child protection procedures. It is an integral part of all activities, functions, culture, and ethos of St John Bosco RC Primary School. This policy complements and supports other relevant school and Local Authority policies, including Child Protection, Safer Recruitment, and internet and e-safety.
