EduCativPosted October 29, 2020SharePosted October 29, 2020 The Woodlands Christian Academy is an independent, Christ-centered college preparatory school that integrates learning with Biblical faith and challenges our students to reach their highest potential - spiritually, academically, physically, and socially - for the glory of Jesus Christ. At The Woodlands Christian Academy, we equip servant leaders to impact their world and eternity for Jesus Christ. The Woodlands Christian Academy is a PreK - 12th-grade college prep school. We are accredited by both AdvancEd and the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). The curriculum is vertically aligned from PreK through 12th grade, preparing students for success throughout their education. Woodlands Christian offers honors and Advanced Placement classes as well as a Distinguished Honors Program. Technology, creativity, and innovation are integrated into every classroom as our teachers embrace 21st-century learning. For this reason, Woodlands Christian is recognized as an Apple Distinguished School. The Woodlands Christian Academy has been recognized as an Apple Distinguished School for 2016-2018. Apple Distinguished Schools are K–20 schools that provide 24/7, schoolwide, one-to-one access to Apple portable computers and mobile devices to all students, teachers, and administrators. They demonstrate an innovative and compelling learning environment that engages students and provides tangible evidence of academic accomplishment. Our early childhood program emphasizes learning through instruction and creative play, establishing a foundation in the core subjects reading, writing, math, science, history, and Bible, music, art, physical education, and foreign language. As students progress through lower school, the core subjects build on one another, and masterclasses are added to their school day, preparing them for a successful transition to middle school. We understand 5th, 6th, seventh, and 8th-grade students to be in the middle of their education; they are not merely junior-sized high school students. This age group has a unique set of needs - academically, spiritually, physically, and socially. Middle school teachers at Woodlands Christian are passionate about working with this age group mentoring and encouraging sound academic habits, spiritual, physical, and social growth in a supportive and flexible school environment, preparing them for high school success. Students continue their study of core subjects English, math, science, history, and Bible, and a host of electives are available for students to choose from (band, theatre arts, choir, art, etc.) and the opportunity to participate in competitive athletic teams. Qualified students may have the opportunity to begin earning high school credits during middle school. The High School program at Woodlands Christian offers students a well rounded, challenging, Christ-centered liberal arts education. The high school curriculum includes College-preparatory, Honors, Pre-AP, and AP courses. A Biblical application of the Socratic Method creates a dynamic classroom environment for learning, and our graduates are prepared to continue their education at four-year universities. We aim to graduate young men and women who think clearly and listen carefully with discernment and understanding that reason persuasively and articulate precisely who can evaluate their entire range of experience in the light of the Scriptures and who do so with eagerness in joyful submission to God.View full schoolQuoteLink to commentShare on other sitesMore sharing options...
