Founded in 1938, Miami Country Day School was a residential boarding school for boys from Kindergarten through eighth grade. Country Day has evolved remarkably over the past 80 years, pioneering the education of the whole child. We are now a coeducational, nonprofit, interdenominational learning community with approximately 1350 students in Pre-Kindergarten 3 through Grade 12 representing over 40 countries. The school's first graduating senior class was in 1981.

We nurture and guide every student every day to find their true talents and passions. When you step foot on our 21-acre campus, you see and feel our mission in action. Students are exposed to culture and expression through the arts, leadership, and teamwork through athletics, compassion, humility through service, and intellectual thought and curiosity through our outcomes-based and a student-centered curriculum.

FCIS accredits the school, and SACS active membership is maintained in NACAC, SACAC, ACCIS, NAIS, SAIS, CASE, CRIS, ERB, American Library Association, and the College Board. Miami Country Day School is a college preparatory learning community committed to educating the whole child. We prepare students to be lifelong learners through the core values of honor, respect, wisdom, and compassion. We inspire our children to develop their intellectual, physical, aesthetic, social, emotional, and spiritual potentials by valuing every student every day.

Miami Country Day School's success is based on a philosophy of dedication to academic excellence. Students are encouraged and expected to question, examine, think, and reflect from their first day in Pre-Kindergarten. Students are challenged as individuals to broaden themselves intellectually. A fulfilling, dynamic, and classical academic program produces learned, secure, motivated, responsible, and successful.

Small class sizes allow students and teachers to interact individually. Passionate teachers have the time for creative and powerful lessons that students will remember for a lifetime. The coordination of technology use within the school supports instructional strategies that foster interactive, collaborative, and innovative teaching and learning. Miami Country Day is committed to the school's mission to foster lifelong learners who are successful and responsible citizens in a global society.

The Learning Resources Program of Miami Country Day School is for students in grades six through twelve who have average to superior intelligence with a documented learning difference. The Learning Resources Program develops those personal and intellectual strengths that enable students to succeed in its college preparatory curriculum. Self-advocacy training is an integral part of our curriculum. Our program is designed to prepare our graduates for a college or university education suitable to their needs and demonstrated abilities. Students take core classes with Learning Resources teachers. Students may move between Learning Resources and main track courses according to their educational needs.
