Pakistan International School (Azizia) Jeddah was founded in 1959 as Pakistan Embassy School to meet the educational needs of the children of Pakistan Embassy Staff. It has grown into a celebrated institution of great repute and provides educational facilities to all Pakistanis living in and around Jeddah and Makkah al Mukarramah. It also welcomes students of other nationalities to benefit from the wide range of opportunities offered by the School. The School seeks to provide educational experience and opportunities that assist the students in developing an integrated pattern of competence, intellectual curiosity, and social responsibility. Underlying these basic goals is the strong commitment to excellence in instruction. The school is alert to the changing educational requirements of the students and endeavors to meet them. To accomplish this mission, the school has established the following objectives:
To guide and develop the student as a whole, molding him/her to a physically, intellectually, and spiritually well-adjusted future. To reprepare the student for academic excellence, instill sublimity of thought, and develop a sense of proportion in him/her as an individual and as a member of society. To foster in the heart and mind of the student a profound and lasting faith in Islam and loyalty to the concept of Islamic Ummah ideology of Pakistan, and the spirit of humanism and brotherhood of all men and women. The School commenced its operation in 11959-1960 vide Letter No. 8/4/9/9180 dated 19.4.1380H, issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Initially, the school was housed in two buildings in Al-Baghdadi. It accommodated a large number of students in two shifts a day. With the rapid increase in the number of students, the need for a new building was felt. To fulfill this requirement, the new school building was constructed in 1984, with the facility of 135 classrooms in two separate wings for boys and girls. The School functions by the rules and regulations set by the Ministry of Education, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Board of Directors duly elected by the parents of the students under the direct supervision of the Ministry of Education, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia constitutes the ‘governing body’ and formulates the policies of the school. The operational activities of the school are carried out under the supervision of the Principal of the school.
The Primary Section- headed by Headmistress- comprises classes Prep to IV for Girls and Prep to V for Boys. The Secondary Sections - headed by Vice Principal - comprise class V to XII for Girls and class VI to XII for Boys.
In administration, the School has a Director of Finance and an Administrative Officer. The Director of Finance is overall in charge of all financial matters, whereas the Administrative Officer looks after the Personnel Section, the Transport Section, and building(s) maintenance.
