St George's Grammar School is a private school providing quality education in a caring, nurturing, and inclusive environment. St George's was founded on 11 April 1848 by Bishop Robert Gray at the current premises of the Anglican Cathedral in Cape Town.
At St George's Grammar School, we combine the richness of tradition with innovation while embracing the fast-changing demands of the information age. We believe in creating a safe, nurturing environment where children can build a strong foundation for learning from Grades Pre-R to 12 in an inclusive and diverse environment.
Learners are encouraged to communicate and develop respectful relationships with one another and with educators, preparing them for their roles in life. Our facilities include two fully-equipped laboratories in our Science Centre, a Prep school and High School computer center, a library, a lecture theatre, an Art Centre, dedicated Drama, and Music departments and a Design & Technology department.
For the sports enthusiasts, the school boasts a large pool, squash court, tennis court, and well-kept sports fields. The fact that we accommodate pupils from all grades means that our students can complete their entire pre, primary and secondary education in familiar surroundings, and forge very strong bonds with the staff and educators. In essence, St George's is a family that seeks to develop each family member to their fullest potential and instill in each a lifelong love of learning that will carry them throughout their future careers.
