Zion Christian Academy is a private Christian school dedicated to training students to excel academically and to cultivate Christian character. Our teachers are experienced, and excited about creating a supportive environment where each student will perform at their highest standard both academically and spiritually.
The philosophy of ZCA is to provide a "Quality Education" in an atmosphere that adheres to the highest Christian values. the curriculum ( ABEKA BOOK ) is designed to meet the highest standards and requirements of equivalent levels of education in the United States of America. Zion Christian Academy recognizes its responsibility to provide an opportunity for each student to develop his or her God-given talents to the fullest extent possible. The school strives to instill in students a sense of obligation (1) to God, (2) to fellow students, (3) to society, to have respect for authority and respect for themselves. Furthermore, as an overseas school, we recognize our obligation to help students understand the relationship between their society and other societies such as our host country of Japan and Pacific Rim Nations.
Students are motivated to excel academically with the ABEKA curriculum. Every teacher at Zion is passionate, dedicated, and enthusiastic about each student in their classroom. Our teachers here at Zion share a common goal to teach, model, and encourage each student to excel academically, to think both independently and critically, and to discover and refine their gifts to be able to positively affect the world around them. Through cultivating a desire to learn, we hope to build such characteristics as Integrity, Courage, Determination, Excellence, Accountability, Discipline, and Loyalty. Zion desires to keep each class smaller, to allow its teachers to get to know each student on an individual basis. This gives the teacher further insight and guidance into how to appropriately help each student.
Zion Christian Academy utilizes the ABEKA BOOK curriculum. Along with the ABEKA curriculum, we incorporate ACSI ( Association of Christian Schools International ) materials, as well as approved text from Harcourt-Brace, Wright Group/McGraw-Hill, and other leading book publishers to keep our students informed with the current United States Educational ( Department of Education ) Standards.
All subjects in all grades are taught by acceptable U.S. Department of Education expectations and standards. As Zion strives for excellence, some of our students may be enrolled in more advanced courses associated with ZCA and our secondary students will be challenged to take more demanding classes in our Direct Distance Learning Programs.
