Our school is situated in the rural village of Pontrhydfendigaid, near Tregaron in the county of Ceredigion, and serves the village and the surrounding area. The school admits pupils on a full-time basis to the reception class in the term following their fourth birthday.

The school is designated as a Welsh-medium school under the Education Authority's language policy. This means that Welsh is the main medium of the life and work of the school and seeks to ensure that pupils are fully bilingual by the time they transfer to the secondary sector. We are committed to providing all children with a high-quality inclusive education in a learning environment that nurtures and provides them with experiences to become effective, enthusiastic, bilingual, independent learners. preparing them to be lifelong learners.

Aims:

• To provide a safe, secure, stimulating, and healthy learning environment that supports the physical and emotional well-being of all children.
• To encourage children to develop and nurture confidence, self-esteem, respect, and pride in themselves and one another.

• To celebrate children's achievements and continuing progress through effective assessment techniques to move their learning forward and establish high standards.
• To develop the ability to learn independently and encourage a climate of child-centered learning as an essential element of school improvement.
• To develop an effective partnership with parents based on respect and encourage them to become active participants in their child's learning

Our curriculum ensures that all learners in our school are engaged as full members of the school community, accessing the wider curriculum and all school activities. It is a balanced, broad curriculum that seeks to provide the cultural, moral, social and emotional, physical, and mental development of pupils and prepare them for opportunities and responsibilities in adult life.
