Fairholme offers a full and broad program of study which includes and surpasses National Curriculum requirements. The children enjoy a wide range of study through Key Stages 1 and 2 in English, Maths, Science, CDT, ICT, History, Geography, Art, Music, Physical Education, Languages, and Religious Education. The curriculum also includes Classical Studies, Drama, and Ballet. Pupils are taught by enthusiastic, qualified staff who care for them as individuals and encourage them to develop to their full potential. We aim to equip the children with the fundamental skills essential for academic work while encouraging creativity and practical abilities. They learn to work both independently and in groups and the children thrive within our happy, family atmosphere.
Fairholme’s new ICT/Library suite was completed in January 2010. Children in all age groups enjoy learning, developing, and honing their computer skills within this hi-tech environment. The facility not only allows the children to gain the important ICT skills they need but also provides a valuable backup to all other areas of the curriculum and augments the well-established academic record of the school.
Children can join the Kindergarten at Fairholme from three years of age for the start of the Foundation Stage. The classroom is equipped to a high standard and provides a stimulating learning environment. The class is led by a fully qualified nursery teacher and supported by a classroom assistant who gives each child loving care, at ent on and guidance. The children undertake a structured range of imaging ve act votes, designed to allow them to develop letter and number concepts, social interaction on skills, and emotional development. The children can take part in art and craft activities, computing, music, sand and water play, role play, and outdoor play. They quickly settle in and make friends and grow in confidence, ready for their next step at Fairholme.
