The European Master in Social Work is a joint program between the KH Freiburg and five universities in 5 European countries. In this study, program courses are offered from a European perspective on social inclusion and combating poverty. There are modules offered on various welfare systems, and different European approaches to Social Work are examined. Students must study 90 ECTS over the two-year duration of the program.

Thousands of international students are enrolled at German universities and colleges each year. These students enrich the university community both culturally and academically. To appreciate this fact, the German Academic Exchange Service provides funding to outstanding international students. The prize is worth 1,000 Euros and is awarded annually at the beginning of the academic year in October.

Our University is committed to the integration of international students. This commitment commenced in 2010 and was supported from 2010 through to 2012 by the DAAD PROFIT program. The University hosts cooking workshops, informal get-togethers, training, cultural events, and movie nights to promote the international integration. These events are open to ALL students, staff, and faculty of the University.

We have a close relationship with our Japanese partner, Mie University, and organize lecture tours, encourage student and staff mobility, and support joint cross-cultural studies on support frameworks in the education and care sectors. Mie University offers programs in medicine and nursing, and educational science, where students benefit from the University's on-campus special needs school.

The KH Freiburg assists international students with settling in and adjusting to their new life in Freiburg. This program aims to support international students' social integration at the KH Freiburg and promote intercultural exchange among national and international students.

Our courses are mainly held in German; therefore, all applicants must demonstrate a high level of competence in the German language. Applicants must provide equivalent competence in the German language through a recognized language test, as outlined below.
