Ohio Valley University offers study abroad programs that offer credit through coursework that involves travel to locations such as London, Paris, Florence, Venice, Rome, Athens, and Jerusalem.
Approximately 500 students from 25 states and 16 nations enroll each year. With a student-to-faculty ratio of 10:1 and an average class size of 20, students find it easy to interact with each other and their professors. This intimate academic experience leads to greater personalized attention and more growth opportunities.
OVU's placement rate far exceeds the national average. The true testament of our strength as an institution of higher learning lies in our graduates' successes. For the last two years, 91 percent of our graduates are working in the fields they have been trained or are pursuing graduate studies. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the national average is 75 percent.
Available from $250 to full tuition, OVU offers scholarships for a variety of reasons. Academic scholarships are available based on ACT/SAT scores at the time of admission.

Financial aid includes any loan, grant, scholarship, and part-time employment intended to pay for education-related expenses. Aid can come from federal, state, and private sources as well as from OVU. Most student aid packages include a combination of aid forms and sources.

Ohio Valley University's Study Abroad program takes students to the far reaches of the globe to inquire into ancient civilizations such as Rome and Jerusalem, and modern cities like London and Paris. Students observe the daily lives of present-day inhabitants, view ancient art, attend modern stage productions, and immerse themselves in the culture of the lands they visit, all under the tutelage of OVU faculty familiar with the sights, sounds, and places they travel.
Ohio Valley University's Intensive English Program guides international students through English learning and certifies them for entry into standard university degree plans in only one year! Students build grammar, reading, speaking, writing, and listening skills that prepare them for studies in a regular university classroom.
In addition to English academic skills, OVU's international students immerse themselves in the American culture. They live in the residence halls where they interact with, study with, and have fun and adventures with American students all year long.

Beginning with Freshman Focus and continuing throughout and beyond their time at OVU, the student's life goals are supported. The four colleges work in conjunction with the Office of Student Success to provide robust training and experiences to develop the real-world skills needed to ensure success in the opportunities they encounter.
