The center also helps students prepare for internships or graduate school. Employment opportunities abound on WolfWork, an online jobs database available to current NSU students and alumni.

Northern offers various opportunities for students and community members to study and learn outside the United States. These opportunities are led by experienced faculty and come with the option to enroll in credit-bearing courses.
More than 90 percent of students at Northern receive some form of financial aid, totaling more than $18.5 million annually. NSU offers several types of financial aid, including scholarships, grants, loans, and work-study.
Undergraduate research is a critical component of Northern's DNA. Every day, student researchers in the College of Arts and Sciences and Schools of Business, Education, and Fine Arts are pushing knowledge and insight boundaries.

The Honors Program provides academically talented and highly motivated students opportunities to excel in the classroom, as campus leaders in clubs and organizations, and in undergraduate research.
University College is Northern's academic support system with academic advising, individual tutoring, and academic skills development.
Advisors in University College help all first-year students register for their first semester, and they continue to serve students through their first academic year. Students who are undecided about their principal will be advised through the Advising Center, regardless of class standing. Also, there are dedicated academic advisors in every college and school.
The Tutoring Center at Northern provides a comprehensive support system to help ensure academic success for every student. Students can find personalized help with reading, writing, math, and more from trained tutors who are successful, motivated, and faculty-recommended within the Tutoring Center. Current NSU students can make appointments and access other Tutoring Center resources on mine.
