Every year, the University welcomes new students contributing to a student body from more than sixty countries and a wide range of interests and diverse social, economic, ethnic, and educational backgrounds. Admission to the University is decided based on the applicant's previous academic performance and educational background and their demonstrated intellectual capacity and potential for intellectual growth. As the University provides English instruction, non-native speakers must present an IELTS or TOEFL or another equivalent English proficiency test. Students who do not pass the IELTS or TOEFL examination must follow an English language course in their first year at the IUG.

The University Advisory Committee is an advisory body to the president of the University. Its mission is to maintain an active and participatory communication line with the University and provide feedback and recommendations to support the University's mission.
