KAU is exceedingly confident that we played significant roles in Korea's aerospace industry by fostering its experts. Building the NARO rocket and ranking sixth place in air transportation throughout the world truly represent our great efforts.
Our curriculum penetrates the overall aerospace field, including aircraft and spacecraft design, flight operations, air traffic management, logistics, air and space law, and airport management. We also carry co-research with world-renowned global corporations such as GE, Airbus, and, etc.
KAU's Regulations specify the underlying mission of its education programs: "KAU fosters capable persons equipped with strong leadership qualities and professional competence, while it teaches and researches theories and application methods in the domain of aerospace science and technologies, as well as in other academic fields that are essential to the development of Korean society and the human race general development of Korean society and the human race."
Under the terms of such a mission, KAU practices its founders' objectives of fostering capable leaders who will discharge their historic responsibilities in the new age by developing their frontier spirit and equipping them with a real intellectual culture and advanced scientific technologies.
KAU practices a code of conduct embodied in its precepts of "A clean body and mind, wide learning and creativity, and harmony and unity" by pursuing the whole person's education.
These precepts emphasize the harmony between practicality and humanity based on the general ideals of university education as provided under the Education Act, whereby "A university teaches and studies in-depth theories and seeks extensive and ingenious methods for their application, an essential element in the development of the nation and the human community". In particular, it presents KAU'sunique goal by specifying a further defining provision in its educational mission of "theories of aerospace science and technologies and their application methods".
Though KAU has undergone developmental processes filled with both hardship and honor, intertwined like our motherland's turbulent history, it has steadily nurtured expert personnel in aviation who now carry out critical roles in many different sectors of society.
No one can deny that KAU graduates have provided tremendous service in all the fields related to aviation. Dedicated to the nation's development, they perform their roles faithfully, serve with integrity, and uphold the steadfast KAU spirit symbolized by the falcon. Making our University a more playful, positive, respectful, safe, and productive learning and working environment. To make this happen, We already have a plan in place, with input from many KAU leaders. We will experience some inconvenience in the following years due to various construction and campus groundwork, including a new on-campus housing complex. These changes will help all KAU family members feel their esteem soar. But it is just the beginning. We will even plan for future expansion.
Making our University a source of an internationally competitive workforce and great leaders, especially in aviation/aerospace and related emerging areas. The nation and the world need competitive and prepared leaders and individuals. Technology is evolving much faster than one can imagine. New fields are emerging every year. Knowledge and training in computers, economics, and English have become prerequisites for almost all professions in this global society. We need to position ourselves to adapt to these changes effectively.
