The University of Calgary in Qatar (UCQ) is the first overseas branch campus of the University of Calgary. UCQ's mandate is to deliver the same excellence in nursing education and research success as the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Calgary. Since 2007 UCQ has been a proud participant in the Qatar National Vision 2030 by educating the future nurse leaders to take their places at the forefront of Qatar's world-class health care system.
The education at UCQ is identical in both quality and standards to the nursing program in Calgary. Courses completed in Qatar are recognized by programs at the Calgary campus and by other post-secondary institutions in the same manner as those offered on the main campus.

The University of Calgary in Qatar offers a flexible, innovative Bachelor of Nursing (BN) degree to prepare students for the opportunities and challenges of a rewarding nursing career. Throughout the program, students are provided with a sound theoretical base and supervised clinical experience in various nursing practice settings.
The impact of mental disorders on the health of Qatari citizens and residents is set to be the subject of a significant research study led by the University of Calgary in Qatar researcher, assistant professor Dr. Vahe Kehyayan, Ph.D. One hundred fifty nursing students earned their undergraduate or graduate nursing degrees at the University of Calgary in Qatar's (UCQ) 2017 Convocation ceremony at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC) on Sunday, May 14.
