Welcome to the University of Munster's School of Business and Economics. We have a wide range of courses we offer and at our diverse research activities.
As one of the leading faculties in the area of business administration and economics, the University of Münster School of Business & Economics of Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster aims to offer an attractive environment for distinguished researchers. Its primary objective is to identify and support young talent to qualify them to become distinguished scholars in different academic spheres.
The faculty offers a professional environment for academic research with a broad range of methodological approaches. The university's historical environment and the University of Münster School of Business & Economics' size and diversity offer special conditions for discipline-specific and interdisciplinary research. All in all, the faculty accomplishes a sound balance between fundamental and applied research in order to be able to establish this a synthesis between the requirements of science and the demands of practice. This position constituted in the past, permits to cover a broad range of topics relevant to both science and society, including innovative issues.
Another aim of the research activities is to qualify tomorrow's reflective and responsible executives who meet the qualified tasks in economy, science, and politics. Academic rigor is the basis of junior researchers' conceptual thinking, while applied research helps them apply scientific findings to the challenges of scientific and economic practice.
Many faculty members participate in international and national research networks and work across faculty boundaries with cooperation partners in Germany and abroad.
Current research results of our faculty's professors influence teaching, and research projects are developed and discussed in the courses. There is an interleaving of research and teaching.
The faculty is recognized by the Scientific Community and accredited following the standards of the AACSB.
Extensive courses and a generalist education characterize Münster University's School of Business and Economics. Great store is set by the international accreditation of the degree courses and other education programs. All the programs offer outstanding teaching quality. The aim is to be a significant breeding ground for those destined to achieve eminence in academia or the world of management. A high value is placed on close contacts with the practicalities of business life and economic policy and the early integration of current research into the teaching and learning environment. We seek to encourage the transfer of knowledge between tertiary educational institutions and the realm of practical realities. Despite high student numbers, the School manages to offer accompanying classes and seminars for small groups, thereby promoting mutual exchange and academic discussion.
Internationalization takes a high priority at the School of Business and Economics. In both research and teaching, the School cooperates closely with institutions abroad and is involved in international networks worldwide. Professors and junior researchers are active members of international research groups and keep up a continuing exchange. Every year, the School welcomes an impressive number of international guest students, postgraduates, and renowned guest researchers worldwide. Simultaneously, numerous partnership agreements and cooperations make different kinds of academic stays abroad possible for students, staff, and professors.
