      1. Our undergraduate degrees in various fields of studies, a graduate degree in nursing, and many degree paths through University Park prepare students for today's highly competitive and dynamic business world. We take pride in delivering courses and programs developed with input from civic leaders and business executives representing both large and small business enterprises in our service area. As a result, we are uniquely positioned to provide educational solutions closely aligned with the local and regional workforce and economic development needs. Penn State Scranton serves traditional and non-traditional students of all ages and backgrounds who, despite their diversity, have deep roots in Northeastern Pennsylvania. Some are admitted to Penn State Scranton directly from high school, take classes on a full-time basis, and are active in student clubs and organizations. Others are working adults with family responsibilities who take classes part-time while juggling a full schedule. They choose our campus because we are close to their family, friends, homes, and workplaces. They like the personal attention, welcoming environment, the fact that Penn State Scranton offers day, evening, and online classes, and that our faculty and staff know them by name. The new student housing, a private development, is located across the street from the campus, providing quality living accommodations and convenience. Penn State Scranton is a diverse community of students, faculty, and professionals committed to achieving success in academics, careers, and personal growth. Together, we work to meet higher education's evolving needs through innovative teaching and research, shared learning experiences, technological advances, and new educational programs. We encourage students, and one another, to achieve academic excellence, embrace discovery, develop leadership skills, cultivate personal integrity and ethical behavior, participate in our communities, and chart a path for our future success! Penn State Scranton offers a warm and friendly, close-knit campus that features small class sizes to serve our students of all socioeconomic backgrounds better. Penn State Scranton offers 13 bachelor degrees, four associate degrees, and the first two years of over 275 Penn State Degrees that can be completed at any other Penn State campus. And, regardless of which PSU campus, you start at, or where you finish, you get a PENN STATE DEGREE - one of the most recognized and respected in the world! Each semester we offer a selection of courses with an embedded program. Each course in each program includes pre-travel and post-travel coursework to be completed on an independent study basis, working with the instructor through distance education technologies on one's schedule and at one's own pace. Travel components of the courses are six to nine days in length, taking place during Spring Break. We aim to bring international academic and immersion experiences within the financial reach of as many Penn State students as possible. Accordingly, travel arrangements are designed to be very affordable, and Scholarship Opportunities are available. Penn State encourages academically qualified students with disabilities to take advantage of its educational programs. The university's policy not to discriminate against persons with disabilities in its admissions policies or procedures or its educational programs, services, and activities. We will provide excellence in academic advising to a diverse student community, encouraging exploration and supporting self-regulation and autonomy with commitment and responsibility. We will assist all Penn State Scranton students in navigating the Penn State advising system, identifying appropriate major and minor goals, and providing access to the tools, resources, and support to help students meet those goals. All students are assigned an academic adviser. Utilizing an academic adviser is encouraged early and often throughout the semester, and your academic career and "self-advising" are strongly discouraged. Paying for college is one of the largest expenses most families will incur. We have designed this website to identify potential resources to help you fund a Penn State Scranton education. After completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), Penn State Scranton students will be considered for all federal financial aid programs, including grants, loans, and work-study programs. Also, they may be eligible for state grant funds from their home state. Located in Northeast Pennsylvania, just outside the city of Scranton, Penn State Scranton enrolls approximately 1,200 students in all stages of their academic careers: recent high school grads, as well as returning adult learners and professionals, each working toward achieving their goals thanks to the resources available at Penn State Scranton. Please attend one of our admission events or schedule an individual tour of our scenic campus and meet with our admission counselors to explore your future goals. Penn State Scranton's Office of Financial Aid assists students through various financial aid sources, including federal, state, and university funding. There are over 150 scholarships and awards available. Along with the Penn State education you'll receive, Penn State Scranton provides a campus experience unlike any other.
