At Whitehouse Common, we are committed to providing excellence and are not content standing still but are always moving forward. By providing a safe, caring, and happy environment where everyone is known, valued, and encouraged, children at Whitehouse Common achieve their highest potential. We strive to ensure that every child has the confidence, enthusiasm, and opportunity to develop life-long skills and positive attitudes that will enable them to flourish in the future. Pupils, parents, staff, and governors make a fantastic team and together contribute enormously to a school we are proud of. Close links with parents and the local community are important to us and regular contact is both planned and encouraged. This partnership is vital to our children’s social and moral development, enabling them to grow into responsible and confident individuals that can contribute effectively to their community and society. Our facilities and resources are of a high standard, particularly in the area of ICT, which is an essential tool for learning today. We are situated on a spacious site that includes several outdoor learning/play areas, allotments, and a swimming pool. At Whitehouse Common Primary School we aim to tailor education to individual needs, interests, and aptitude to fulfill every child's potential. Every pupil will have access to a creative, rich, broad, balanced, and differentiated curriculum We recognize that every child has a different knowledge base and skill set, as well as varying aptitudes and aspirations therefore every young person's needs will be assessed and their talents developed through diverse teaching strategies. At Whitehouse Common Primary School this means all teachers and teaching staff have the responsibility to ensure that they offer a curriculum and a range of teaching approaches that ally high standards in Basic Skills with opportunities for enrichment, creativity, and physical activity thus promoting and ensuring enjoyment and excellence for all. At Whitehouse Common Primary School, pupils are actively encouraged to make choices, knowing that they are in a safe and supportive environment. As a school, we educate and provide boundaries for young pupils to make informed choices, through a safe environment and an empowering education. Pupils are encouraged to know, understand and exercise their rights and personal freedoms and advised how to exercise these safely, for example through our E-Safety and PSHE lessons. Whitehouse Common Primary is a diverse school. We actively promote diversity through our celebrations of different faiths and cultures. Religious Education lessons and PSHE lessons reinforce messages of tolerance and respect for others. Our curriculum and our links with other schools, both local and global, illustrate our commitment to exploring our school community and the local community. Members of different faiths and religions are encouraged to share their knowledge to enhance learning within classes and the school.
