      2. Walnut Tree Walk Primary School – a unique school with a child-centered approach to learning. Walnut Tree Walk is a small, friendly, and thriving school in North Lambeth, within sight of The Houses of Parliament and the Millennium Wheel. Situated in the heart of an inner London community, it is the local school for families from many different backgrounds and cultures. Each child who comes here brings an individual experience, history, and culture. Before they reach us they are developed human beings with their own identities. So we celebrate this diversity, we are proud of it and we hope it shows in our school. Our family ethos and creative curriculum give every child an opportunity to reach their full potential and nurture their talents. We offer a very broad and balanced curriculum so that children not only leave with high standards in Reading, Writing, and Maths but also experience outstanding arts provision. Our mission is for all children to ‘be the best they can be’ and to leave primary school in Year 6 as well-rounded children with a love of learning, ready for the next stage of their lives, and saying, “I know who I am.”We are a happy and harmonious school where children settle quickly and become part of the Walnut Tree Walk family. Being a relatively small school means that every child is known by everyone and individual successes are acknowledged and celebrated. The broad and balanced creative curriculum complements the high standards of teaching in English and Maths, meaning that children leave with both strong academic skills as well as achieving success in creative subjects. Our topic-based curriculum allows children to get fully absorbed into their learning and make links between subjects, topics, and themes. We constantly review our curriculum for it to be relevant and of interest to the children, providing them with the knowledge and skills they need for the next stages of their lives after primary school. We have families from many parts of the world, speaking many languages, with a tremendous diversity of cultural, religious, historical, and geographical experience. We aim to ensure that our curriculum draws on all this richness. The greater the variety of activities children experience, the better they do in all subjects across the curriculum. A child who is encouraged to develop confidence and self-expression will be better equipped to learn generally. We believe in educating the whole child and we encourage children to use art as their expressive language. From the moment children join our school, they begin to develop their artistic and expressive skills through a variety of media and techniques. We have excellent sports provision at Walnut Tree Walk, benefiting from several experienced teachers and coaches. Our Physical Education curriculum aims to teach and develop skills across a range of sports and games as well as encouraging children to lead more active lifestyles and to develop a sense of fair play and sportsmanship. We offer unparalleled training in dance music, theater visual art and writing, film & media arts, complemented by a robust and innovative academic curriculum. Our program's aspect promotes our students' growth as bold artists, curious learners, and mindful citizens. Students from across the country and around the globe come together to form a dynamic community on our scenic campus located in Natick, Massachusetts, just west of Boston. Guided by master teachers and supported by peers from various artistic backgrounds, Walnut Hill students graduate prepared to succeed in college and beyond. Core Values At Walnut Hill School for the Arts, you are welcome as you are. Our strength as a community comes from different people, places, and ideas that inform our work. We strive to accept and celebrate each member's unique contributions, and we draw on our collective experiences to live as more compassionate global citizens. We believe that art and creative thinking are essential to promoting a more tolerant, mindful, and beautiful world. We thrive on curiosity and discovering answers to questions that have not yet been asked. Through imagination, fresh ideas, and innovation, we push ourselves to think differently, embrace challenges, and try again. We strive towards excellence in everything we do. Excellence in any endeavor - artistic, academic, and personal - is not an end. It requires sustained effort, recognizes the possibility of failure, and encourages engagement with the ongoing process of achieving success. Growth is an evolving process of awakening and renewal that happens when we are mindful of where we are and where we want to be. It requires self-awareness, resilience, and the courage to embrace the unfamiliar. This journey begins with the idea that we grow with every experience we encounter and understand that curiosity engenders lifelong learning. Personal conduct and accountability are expressions of the esteem with which we hold ourselves and others. We act with integrity to cultivate an environment where we treat one another, our work, and our physical space with deep respect. At Walnut Hill, respect is maintained through trust, honesty, and mutual understanding. Walnut Hill seeks to cultivate a spirit of inclusivity and multiculturalism by weaving diverse curriculum, programming, and practices into the school's academic, artistic, and social fabric. We believe it is critical to educate members of our community to be responsible global citizens. To navigate the tensions and challenges of our world, it is imperative to understand where we each came from, where we are, and where we are going. We promote a sense of worth and belonging in everyone. We ask that all members of the school community consider those who are marginalized. We ask all members to attend thoughtfully to instances of differences, including but not limited to opinion, age, ability, class, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, ethnicity, race, and religion. We expect community members to express their viewpoints, consider and understand divergent perspectives, and confront differences with maturity, civility, and respect. Our mission to educate talented, accomplished, and intellectually engaged young artists from all over the world is as critical today as it has ever been. Walnut Hill prepares students to face the challenges of the 21st century. Our alumni's many and varied successes are a powerful indicator of how a Walnut Hill education continues to serve our students well, enabling them to grow into the creative, artistic, and professional leaders of the future. It is a time of exciting change on the Walnut Hill campus. We reinvigorate our artistic and academic programs, witness the evolution of our new Writing, Film & Media Arts major, and open our first-ever dedicated arts building, The Delbridge Family Center for the Arts. Amidst these shifts, we have remained steadfast to our mission of training and educating the world's most talented young artists, knowing that within them lies our greatest hope for a world that is more tolerant, more mindful, and more beautiful.
