  1. Australian Christian College Darling Downs was established to provide quality Christian education to students in the southeast corridor of Perth, WA. The school's goal is to nurture the 'whole child' by offering a wide variety of experiences and opportunities. The school maintains a dynamic learning environment that has been purposefully constructed to allow each student to thrive spiritually, academically, socially, and physically. At Australian Christian College, we value: Lord Jesus Christ, a friend of sinners and savior of those who believe in Him High standards of human endeavor Academic rigor Diversity of student opportunities Service in local and global communities Most non-government schools in Australia are affiliated with a religious denomination such as Catholic schools and Anglican schools. Our school is non-denominational. That means our staff attends different churches, and our school is not aligned with one denomination. When we use the term "Christian," we refer to the accounts of Jesus Christ found in the Bible. Jesus Christ said and did many remarkable things, but the most fantastic thing that he did for us is that he died on the cross to have a relationship with God through faith. If you have a moment, the best video we have found explains this is called "Falling Plates. " You will love how we focus on connecting the dots between play and formal learning. We want your child to work on their communication skills, imagination, and creativity. This occurs within the context of making new friends in their age group. At this stage of learning, natural curiosity is a powerful ally for teachers. Students have an interest in the world around them. Teachers tap into this interest to get the best out of these young minds. Your child's natural curiosity will be nurtured into a thirst for knowledge, which is typically the seed that grows into a love of learning. It is an extraordinary time in a child's educational journey, and we see it as the gateway to lifelong learning. We have a detailed plan to help your child learn how to read. At the beginning of the school year, students are tested to determine their reading level. We use tests developed by the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) to provide feedback to teachers and parents months before the NAPLAN tests occur. The School's Board has communicated their plan to establish a Secondary School at Australian Christian College – Darling Downs with the current Year 5s the first year-level of intake. This means that Year 7 (the first year of Secondary School in Western Australia) will commence in 2020 at the school. With South East Perth's continued growth, there is an influx of young families into the region. This growth was a significant factor in the Board's decision to expand into Secondary School. In the future, students will start in Kindergarten and continue through to high school. This decision provides parents with some assurance when choosing to send their primary-age children to Australian Christian College. View full school

  3. Southlands International School is the only international school in the south of Rome with 400 students aged 3 to18 from over 30 nationalities. All teachers are English mother tongue, fully qualified, and with years of experience in British education. A science laboratory, drama studio, access to the latest technology such as iPads and interactive boards all contribute to the avant-garde teaching program at Southlands. This is further supported with several sports activities during and after school hours. Southlands offers Italian parents the Programma Ministeriale Italiano program, allowing their children to take an exam each year to obtain certification from a public Italian school. The school aims to provide a sound British education. Classes are held entirely in English for all subjects. All our teachers are English mother tongue, fully qualified and experienced. Southlands School is an approved British Overseas Establishment recognized by the English Department for Education and RISA (Rome International Schools Association). It is also an accredited center for G.C.S.E. examinations and other Edexcel exams. We offer a reduced format of the Programma Ministeriale Italiano for Italian nationals. The schools have specialized departments to cater to specific needs such as Literacy Support and EAL (English as an Additional Language). Screening for learning difficulties is also a part of our yearly program and Education Needs Specialists (i.e. Speech therapists, Psychologists) are regularly consulted to best assist our students. Reports are sent to parents two times each year. Formal parent/teacher meetings are held four times a year. The school encourages friendly contact between parents and staff to monitor progress and well-being. In line with the English National Curriculum guidelines, Year 12 and Year 13 are working in Key Stage 5. Widely regarded as the leading school leaving qualification and recognized by the best universities across the world, the IB Diploma Programme comes to Southlands. The IB Diploma Programme is designed as an academically challenging and balanced program of education with final examinations that prepare our students for success at university and beyond. Based on the pattern of no single country, it is a deliberate compromise between specialization required in some national systems and the breadth preferred by others. IB programs are recognized around the world and sure increased adaptability and mobility for IB students but above all, they promote national understanding through a shared academic experience. The curriculum and pedagogy of the IB Diploma Programme courses on the global perspectives of learning and teaching, while insisting that students fully explore their home cultures and language.
