Varsity athletes at Concordia experience unique opportunities as they compete against students from other international schools in Shanghai and around the world. Seven diverse and competitive sports programs are available to middle school students interested in athletics. In grades 7 and 8, select teams are available in some sports while in grades 5 and 6, the focus is on learning to play and understanding sportsmanship. Students can also participate in middle school Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs), through which students learn fair play and develop interpersonal skills that are integral to life success, both on and off the court. For those elementary students who love being active, Concordia teachers supplement physical education and play with engaging and educational Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs) that focus on getting physical such as Fit Club, Tennis, and Kung Fu. Concordia also works with outside vendors to provide alternative sports options for a fee such as Kung Fu or Tennis. NYU Shanghai is China's first Sino-US research university and the third degree-granting campus of the NYU Global Network. We were founded in 2012 by New York University and East China Normal University with the support of Shanghai and the district of Pudong. NYU Shanghai seeks to cultivate globally-minded graduates through innovative teaching, world-class research, and public service commitment. All undergraduate students pursue a course of study that will equip them with a broad knowledge base and tools to become creative thinkers and active learners throughout their lives. Our student body currently consists of 1,300 undergraduate and graduate students, half of whom are from China. Students from the United States and some 70 other countries represent the other half. Our faculty of renowned scholars, innovators, and educators are recruited from the world's best research universities. English is the language of instruction on campus, though international students must study and achieve proficiency in Mandarin Chinese. Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), as one of the higher education institutions which enjoy a long history and a world-renowned reputation in China, is a key university directly under the administration of the Ministry of Education (MOE) of the People's Republic of China and co-constructed by MOE and Shanghai Municipal Government. Through 121 years' unremitting efforts, SJTU has become a comprehensive, research-oriented, and internationalized top university in China. The number of SCI included papers in terms of the Article and Review hit a historical high with a total number of 6,027. Among them, the outstanding international paper reaches 2,497. The total number of domestic SCI-cited papers reaches 26,749, ranking the first in China. Two thousand four hundred fourteen papers were regarded as "doing-a-good-job" papers, ranking the third in China. In 10 years, SCI-cited papers have reached 39,913 and 366,612 times, continue to maintain the second in China. 705 International Conference Papers, ranking second in China. One was elected as "2015 Chinese most influential 100 international academic papers".
