Founded in 1946, SBS was established to provide a place of biblical instruction and learning where students in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade could grow academically, spiritually, physically, and socially. Seventy-one years later, we continue to do just that. At every school level, Second Baptist School students are engaged in technology to expand their learning. Starting in pre-kindergarten, students attend technology class to learn necessary skills and use technology tools such as iPads and laptops in the day-to-day classroom curriculum. Through these technology tools, our students become engaged in 21st-century skills while expanding their understanding of classroom content. Through this style of student-centered learning, school is transformed from a lecture-style class to an open discussion. Students are in control of their education, as they are encouraged to ask questions, share opinions, and listen attentively to their peers around the round Harkness table. The middle school experience at Second Baptist School is full of growth opportunities. Each grade level curriculum is designed to meet students and help them grow spiritually, emotionally, and academically. Our upper school challenges and engages students daily through rigorous, college-preparatory, and Christ-centered instruction across all subjects and disciplines.
