    Redlands

Throughout its 130 year history, Redlands has sought to be an independent provider of education that continually moves with the times while cherishing its history and valued traditions. Academic learning lies at the heart of our mission. Our academic program aims to cater to a diversity of interests and abilities while ensuring that core competencies are addressed. The Redlands Learning Platform underpins the planning of our programs of study, their delivery in classrooms, and assessment. It uses two world-recognized high-quality frameworks to achieve enjoyable, challenging, meaningful, and useful learning. With students' active participation in their learning, we seek to move students progressively in skills and attitude towards being both independent and co-operative learners; we aim to take students beyond the acquisition of knowledge to a deeper understanding of concepts and ideas. To this end, we promote higher-order thinking skills, challenging students to apply their knowledge and understanding to problems and situations previously not experienced. In Years 11 and 12, students can choose a course of study leading either to the Higher School Certificate (HSC) or International Baccalaureate (IB). Redlands has offered the IB for over 25 years, longer than any other school in New South Wales. Our approach to discipline aims to provide a safe and constructive environment for learning and promotes self-respect and respect for others and the School. Its ultimate goal is the internalizing of self-discipline. The academic program is significantly complemented by a wealth of sporting, cultural, and service extra-curricular and co-curricular activities that invite students to contribute to existing experience and expertise and explore new opportunities. Highlights include a comprehensive Snowsports program, Sailing, a Winter School at the High Country Campus, and a Ballet and Dance Academy. All students are expected to participate in at least one extra-curricular activity and one co-curricular activity each year. These programs are designed to expand the social experience, encourage active contribution to the School community, and help students develop teamwork, leadership, and other associated skills. The total mix of the Redlands offering aims to provide our students with a rich and balanced education, preparing them for future roles as good and responsible citizens and successful and active members and leaders of society. In this regard, the development of critical values, attitudes, and dispositions is a crucial part of our educational intention for every student. Our Redlands School motto, "Let your light shine," epitomizes our expectation that all students will seek to do their very best in all that they undertake, that they will pursue excellence, and that their efforts will not be simply for their benefit but also importantly for the benefit of others. Redlands seeks to engage and develop continuously staff who are highly knowledgeable in their subject areas and the art and science of teaching. We aim to employ teachers who are or aspire to be leaders in their field. Our teachers are encouraged to focus on innovation and bring the best educational theory and practice into the classroom. As a result, students and teachers are jointly engaged in learning, varied, stimulating, and ongoing. Redlands teachers appreciate the importance of role modeling and seek to convey their passion and commitment to life and learning to their students. The Redlands community is a diverse, participative community of highly motivated people, which readily accepts newcomers. It is a very inclusive and collaborative culture where individuality is also welcomed, respected, and celebrated. Redlands is an outward-looking school, developing well-rounded, confident young adults who are prepared for post-school life. Our graduates have recorded success in the full range of careers both within Australia and internationally. Many contribute significantly to their communities and carry with them the values underpinned their education at Redlands. Vision is to inspire girls and boys to achieve life-readiness and let their light shine through the provision of a world-recognized, contemporary education. We aim to provide a diverse, co-educational environment based on innovative, flexible, and research-based teaching practices. In this context, staff and parents will work together to instill sound values in the young people in our care and inspire them to recognize and develop their unique potential and use their knowledge and abilities for others' good. Our school motto is: "Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in Heaven." Matthew. Our ethics, standards, and practices are based upon established Christian values. View full school

The University of Redlands admissions counselors looks forward to partnering with you and your institutions this year. Together we can help every student begin the journey towards higher education. Our rich history goes back to 1907 with the stated mission "to mold the mind and the heart so that in the conflict of life, keenness and conscience shall go forth together." More than a century later, students continue to be at the center of a diverse and enriching academic experience, and the mission remains fundamentally unchanged: educating minds and hearts. From the beginning, our University's story has been one of growth, change, and innovation. Through it all, our students have remained the central focus of a diverse and balanced academic experience that prepares them not merely to learn but to lead. Today, over 100 years after founder Jasper Newton Field proclaimed, "I am in favor of having a college that will be a credit to ourselves and the state, or none at all," Redlands continues to live up to his optimistic vision.
  4. Faith has the vision to be a dynamic Christian learning community embracing innovation service, global thinking, and excellence. This vision, combined with our values, provide our foundational direction moving into the future for our students and community. The vision statement has been very carefully crafted through many consultation sessions, engagement with our community, and feedback from our parent, student, and staff groups in particular, with each word being full of meaning and purpose combined with a call to action. Faith is proving to be a dynamic community, moving with purpose and innovation, responding to current and future needs while holding firm to the crucial values that our students must have. The community has always been a massive strength of Faith, and the added component of being a learning community is most important for our students. As a learning community, the vital competencies of collaboration, cooperation, and team focus are added to the essential learnings that our students need. This is learning for all in the community. We understand that we all need to continue to grow and learn throughout our lives, mainly as we deal with the nature of an ever-changing world. Service has always been a big part of Faith, and we acknowledge this in our vision statement and decide to continue to build this into our programs and the very fabric of who we are and what we do. This meshes splendidly with being globally minded and outward-looking, but the global thinking aspects are more far-reaching as well. The cliché of it being a shrinking world has never been more pronounced, with the opportunities present to our students while at the College and then as they move out into the world. Preparing our students to be global citizens is essential, and the College will weave these learnings into our program and community. Excellence is the final word of our vision statement. It is a reference to all aspects of school life. It not only refers to high standards of academic achievement but strong values, high levels of effort, behavior, and the Christian values of compassion, service, humility, forgiveness, justice, and love. An enthusiastic and committed Christian staff, together with the community, has developed a comprehensive curricular and co-curricular program to meet the various student needs within our Christian context. It is lovely to be part of a Christian community that always reflects to seek improvement. It is dynamic in development and innovation in the pursuit of current best practice, all in a context that places students' Christian pastoral care as its highest priority. The Redlands Lutheran Parish established faith Lutheran Primary School in 1982. The initial enrolment was approximately sixty students. In the early years, the local Lutheran congregation's members showed loyal and robust support to this new and growing school. Many families gave their time, money, and talents to assist the school in those early years. Without much effort and dedication to the school, we would not have the school here today. Faith Lutheran College, Redlands Junior School, is committed to providing an all-round education in a safe and supportive Christian environment. The Junior School curriculum is delivered in a stimulating environment with high expectations. The emphasis in the Junior School is on all children striving to achieve their potential within a rich and diverse approach built around the eight key learning areas and Christian Studies. A well-equipped computer laboratory and classrooms serviced by a network of computers provide both Internet and Intranet access to students who are taught keyboard, literacy, and numeracy skills from an early age. The Prep Year is a particular year where the curriculum is organized to provide the transition between a 'play' environment and the more formal demands of Year 1. All students attend pre-school on a full-time basis. Writer's Circle is an after school club whose objectives are to encourage young budding authors by meeting monthly and to allow these young authors to present original short stories and poems to their peers for the positive feedback. Students are encouraged to experiment with a variety of genres and attend dressed as their favorite storybook character. At the end of each club, meeting members are given a chance to form social bonds with like-minded peers over an afternoon tea. Our talented writers' outstanding efforts are published each month in the "Writer's Circle Magazine," and copies of this popular publication are distributed throughout the school. 1-15 Beveridge Road Thornlands QLD 4164 Phone : (07) 3820 5500 Fax : (07) 3820 5511 Absentee : (07) 3820 5525 View full school
  5. Redlands is an exciting, happy, and vibrant community school in the East End of London. Children enjoy attending and, with the support of our enthusiastic and caring staff, challenging themselves to become successful learners. Redlands School is committed to providing a high-quality education for all our children. We believe there are times when some children need additional support to fully access all aspects of school life. Through our special needs provision, and working collaboratively with parents/carers, outside agencies, and local special schools, we endeavor to identify promptly a child’s particular need so that individualized programs and support can be provided when appropriate. Our Vision Statement is ‘Learning Creatively with pride’. We believe everyone should take pride in their achievements as this will build confidence and resilience and will encourage further success. We also believe that learning can and should occur in many different forms and places. At Redlands, we endeavor to create a learning environment that: Recognizes and celebrates success – to develop confidence and self-worth. Excites and enthuses children about learning – to develop life-long learners. Develops a culture of learning from each other – to develop open-mindedness and respect. Leads children to appreciate the importance of challenge – to build confidence and resilience. Allows for and encourages individual choice – to develop independence of thought. Nurtures and cares for everyone as individuals – to build reflectiveness, self-esteem, and responsibility. Develops an understanding of our impact on the environment both locally and globally – to develop responsibility. Supports the development of social and emotional skills – to develop integrity and mindfulness. Our vision and aims inform all our plans and policies at Redlands. They are reviewed regularly with pupils, staff, parents, and governors. The Redlands Curriculum is based on the National Curriculum and includes RE and PSHE. Our curriculum reflects the culture, values, and ethos of the school Redlands Aims and is designed to prepare our pupils for the opportunities, responsibilities, and challenges of life in modern Britain. Learning experiences include relevant activities beyond the classroom, such as educational visits, residential stays outside London, and rich and varied extended school opportunities. Our curriculum leaders are currently in the process of updating and redesigning the Redlands Curriculum, informed by current research on how children learn. We view children as active participants in their education and aim to provide them with opportunities to engage with challenging ideas linked to values in local, national, and global contexts. Our curriculum development will be an ongoing process taking place over the next two years. We aim to develop an innovative integrated curriculum, with meaningful cross-curricular links and opportunities for deep and rich learning experiences. The National Curriculum is a “mastery” curriculum and we believe that pupils should repeat content as many times as possible across the key stage to gradually deepen their understanding. Our curriculum design reflects recognition of our responsibility to promote social cohesion and social mobility. Personal development and physical and mental wellbeing are key, and we focus on Redlands Learning Powers to foster attributes such as resilience and stamina. Our Social Moral Spiritual and Cultural education (including age-appropriate education on relationships and sex) aim to equip our pupils to be reflective, caring, and active members of our diverse society.

1-15 Beveridge Road Thornlands QLD 4164 Phone : (07) 3820 5500 Fax : (07) 3820 5511 Absentee : (07) 3820 5525
