      1. The Kilmore International School (TKIS) was established in 1989 and is a non-denominational international school offering Years 3 – 12. We are a boarding and day school conveniently located in a safe rural setting in Kilmore north of Melbourne. The school has a family atmosphere where girls and boys from Melbourne, country Victoria and from around the world become part of a close-knit learning community. The Kilmore International School has an impressive record of academic success in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. Our inspiring, experienced, and highly qualified teachers enjoy a special relationship with their students, most of whom will attend leading universities worldwide. As a boarding school and home to students worldwide, pastoral care lies at its heart. The Heads and Homeroom teachers know their students thoroughly. We provide a wide variety of co-curricular activities to foster experiential learning and leadership. The Kilmore International School is modeled on international schools overseas. It was established in 1990 to provide an accurate and exceptional international education for students, whether local or abroad. The school buildings were initially built in 1887 by the Marist Brothers of the Catholic Church and became Assumption College. The current owners purchased the buildings and grounds in the 1980s. The new owners completely renovated and modernized the existing buildings. New classrooms, including a library, science wing, drama and music studios, art rooms, computer laboratories, general classrooms, and staffrooms, were added over the next twenty years and a modern dormitory for girls. In 2011, a state-of-the-art Language Learning Centre was opened. The school grounds now contain two soccer fields, basketball courts, cricket facilities, and tennis courts. From 1990 through to 2009, the school offered secondary education only. Due to increased demand for high-quality education in the local area, students in Years 5 and 6 were admitted in 2010 and Years 3 and 4 in 2015. Since opening in 1990 with two international students, we have grown from strength to strength. Leading corporations around the globe employ our alumni. We have a vibrant community of graduates who remain close friends with the staff and fellow students. Even though the alumni form a diaspora in many nations, they are linked by the experience of completing their IB Diploma together at The Kilmore International School. Our ethos of dedicated, small classes continues as our student's numbers have grown to over 400. In 2015 we celebrated our 25th anniversary as one of the most successful IB world schools in the southern hemisphere. The success of our graduates, both locally and globally, makes us all enormously proud. An International School exists to serve the needs of its students within the wider international community. This school aims to provide for boarding and day pupils an education of excellence in all areas. The school aims to develop, in a disciplined and caring environment, the spiritual, intellectual, cultural, physical, and social capacities of all its students and encourage and nurture their talents and abilities. It further aims to develop a responsibility to the community by demanding high personal standards and encouraging constructive citizenship and consideration. The Kilmore International School (TKIS) is an independent, non-denominational boarding and day school that caters to academically motivated students from Years 3 to 12. All students complete an IB diploma in Years 11 and 12. Boarding is available from Year 7. Australian and international students thrive at TKIS, located in a peaceful, rural environment with easy access to Melbourne's northern suburbs. We offer an intensive evening tutorial program, highly experienced teaching staff, and the unique and rigorous IB Diploma Programme to all students in Years 11 and 12. Established in 1989, graduates continually achieve outstanding results and receive offers from the world's most prestigious universities. In 2018, TKIS graduates performed exceptionally well once again. Approximately 15% of our graduates scored an ATAR of 95 or above, and more than half scored an ATAR above 90. Five scholarships from leading Australian or overseas universities have been awarded and accepted by our graduates. Our Dux of the class in 2018, Jack Healy, achieved an IB score of 42 out of 45 and received an offer of a place with a scholarship to the University of Melbourne to study Biomedicine. The Kilmore International School aims to: Service to others is part of life and develops the School community's conscience, thus breaking down self-interest. The school must provide students with every opportunity to develop a sense of moral responsibility.
