Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education "Khabarovsk State University of Economics and Law" (KSUEL) – is the most comprehensive public institution of higher education in the Far East and one of the leading specialized staff training centers of economic, law, and managerial profiles. The history of Khabarovsk State University of Economics and Law began on June 30, 1970, when the Khabarovsk Institute of National Economy (KINE) - the first Far East school of this profile was established. In 1994 Khabarovsk Institute of National Economy acquired the status of the Academy and was transformed into the Khabarovsk State Academy of Economics and Law (KSAEL). Today KSUEL is the largest educational institution, with about seven thousand students and over 300 teachers. The teaching staff is provided with high scientific and pedagogical qualifications with academic degrees and titles. Each year KSUEL trains future specialists in-demand who successfully make their career in public authorities and local self-government institutions, in science, in business, in law-enforcement bodies. The high professional and personal potential of KSUEL graduates allows them to play a vital role in the professional communities of Khabarovsk Krai and the Far Eastern region. Possessors of KSUEL prestigious diploma have favorable starting positions and work in different regions of Russia and abroad. There is 5 Schools in KSUEL (International Economic Relations, Trade, and Technology, Management, Economics, Law) with specialists, bachelors, masters, and postgraduate degrees program. Within this framework, students have the opportunity to choose one of the profiles interested in. To master study programs, all forms of education are used: full-time, part-time, correspondence. The programs of the individual plan within the accelerated period and distance learning technologies are also used. Khabarovsk State University of Economics and Law provides educational service in two specialties, nine directions, and more than 20 profiles for bachelors: Customs (specialty) Economic Security (specialty), "Forensic Economic Examination" specialization Applied Informatics, "Corporate Information Systems" profile Production Technology and Organization of Public Catering, "Technology and Organization of Restaurant Business" profile KSUEL was among the first institution in the region begun to introduce elements of leveled education. Now the Academy carries out master degree training in the fields of "Applied Informatics", "Economics", "Management", "State and Municipal Management", "Personnel Management", "Trade", "Law". Several major educational programs unique to Khabarovsk Krai and even throughout the Far East are implemented at Khabarovsk State University of Economics and Law. Thus, with society's demands, the university opened two specialties: "Economic Security" and "Customs". KSUEL, the event contributing to the university's integration into the global scientific and educational space, has occurred. The first Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the Asia-Pacific Region Research Center were created in the Far East. One of the critical principles of Khabarovsk State University of Economics and Law is to provide continuing education. According to this principle, the university has every opportunity for additional education and advanced training. KSUEL Postgraduate course is an interesting prospective ground for advancing energetic and motivated young people. Postgraduate programs are implemented in three fields (History, Economics, and Law) that cover ten scientific disciplines. The dynamic activity of centers for additional education has allowed the university to become a regional platform for further professional development, advanced training, and specialist certification. These are scientific-research, scientific-methodical and educational centers "Auditor", "Government Procurement", "Financier", "Insurance", "Anti-Crisis Management and Property Assessment", "Tax Consulting", "Business and Foreign Languages", "Tourism and Hospitality Management" and others. Also, there is a Presidential program of management training in Khabarovsk Krai based on KSUEL. Over the years of successful work, KSUEL established many contacts with different scientific centers and higher education institutions. Partnership with research institutes of FEB RAS, public authorities, and local government bodies, entrepreneurs' structures allow experienced professionals and research staff in the study process of experienced professionals and researchers. KSUEL pays special attention to international relations and partnership programs with foreign universities in the USA, Europe, Asia-Pacific region. Cooperation with partner universities is based on mutual agreements, including the exchange of students, graduate students, and professors. It is organized by implementing joint research and educational projects: conducting research the publication of joint research papers holding international symposia and conferences attracting foreign professors scholars practitioners from foreign partner universities Center of Training and Testing for Russian as a Foreign Language in KSUEL allows foreigners to adapt to the Russian environment. KSUEL successfully participates in international projects. Thus it is the active participant of the Tempus program – one of the European community programs designed to improve higher education systems through practical Trans-European cooperation between partner countries. KSUEL successfully solves personal training on the level of world standards and opens the way in the global world for its students and graduates. KSUEL is also has a high corporate culture: students of the university are the members of various university associations, champions in academic, sports, and creative competitions of regional and national level.
