Today, our society undertakes an aging society's challenges, computerization, globalization, and technical innovation. Medical universities are socially expected to train physicians capable of responding to these challenges and providing high-level medical services. Our medical university must evolve to fulfill more responsibilities by reviewing our advanced educational and medical system, which has been cultivated since the establishment of Kawasaki Gakuen. We are also tasked with evolving this school system into an institution of advanced and concentrated knowledge. And we must steadily pursue our ends to provide competent physicians who can meet the demands of society and take responsibility as a leader in medical science to help people in need. We are to make every effort to contribute to education, research, and medical services, making fair use of our unique features. All faculty members carry out the founder's basic philosophy into action to provide students with the opportunity to become physicians with a strong will, sound body, intelligence, and moral ethics based on humanity. Students can acquire in-depth medical knowledge and contribute to new medical science. Education of competent and tenderhearted physicians with a wide range of knowledge, technique, and high reliability. Education of competent medical experts. Education of researchers who will advance the practice of medicine and biomedical sciences. Education of physicians who have sound minds and bodies with great humanity. An Educational System Based on Our Educational Philosophy and academic target: Educational programs, which develop rich humanity and ensure excellent medical education, are offered. Specialized courses start at the 1st grade based on the adequately balanced program. Each cubicle on our private study floors, provided for 2nd year through 6th-year students, is equipped with a LAN connection. In addition to the organ and function-based integrated lectures, the pre-clinical training for clinical skills and knowledge is prepared for the 3rd and 4th-grade students. The students are evaluated by using OSCE. 5th-grade students are divided into small groups for clinical training by participating in medical practice, and these groups can study together in their study room. 6th-grade students have intensive lectures about basic medical and clinical science to master the knowledge required for clinical practice and national examinations. Intensive audiovisual education is provided to students of all grades. Students are provided with the tutorial system: a counselor teacher for each grade and an advisory teacher for each small group. One of the unique characteristics of Kawasaki Gakuen is that all 1st-grade students must live in the dormitory. This experience helps students learn how to get along together and gain fellow feeling. This also provides an opportunity to make life-long friends. This on-campus dormitory provides private rooms for individual students and a large open space for everyday usage.
