      1. We are one of over 80 Primary and Secondary schools operated by the Lutheran Church of Australia, which currently educates well over 20,000 students. St. John's is located on a 3-hectare site in a semi-rural area of Jindera and is serviced from Albury and surrounding districts by several government-operated, free buses. We cater for boys and girls in the preceding years from Little Saints (4yr olds) to Year 6. Our school is open to all families and denominations in the community and enjoys a very positive reputation. We are a loving Christian community dedicated to providing a safe learning environment, inspiring all to achieve their full potential. We recognize learners' diversity, encourage and develop respect for others, a love for learning, and a desire to grow to maturity in Christ. Established in 1868, St John's Lutheran Primary School has provided quality Christian education non-stop for 150 years! St John's mainstay has always been to provide a caring and supportive environment to nurture our families in the Christian faith. With academic excellence and a reliable Christian educational program, the chief goals, St John's, continues to educate the whole child and support families in any way that we can. We are very well resourced and have excellent facilities. There are Interactive Whiteboards in every classroom and very advanced technological aids to assist further the education provided. The curriculum provides challenge, creativity, and variety, and incorporates both State and Federal requirements, and initiative is encouraged. We are excited to offer families a Christian choice in education and continue to provide excellence and care in a beautiful, tranquil environment where learning is valued and excellence is encouraged. The school vision statement is also our motto "to maturity in Christ. This seemingly simple phrase is rich in meaning and encouragement and is readily understood by even the youngest children. The following points amplify this vision statement: "to" – indicates a process and a direction. Education is a lifelong process. It should also be in an intentional direction. "maturity"- is our desired goal in primary education, as throughout all of life. "in Christ"- to live all areas of our life in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. This scope of our vision is all students and all members of the wider school community. To strive through a life-long education, to be fully mature in Christ is a worthy goal for us all. The School logo presents this in the following manner. At the center of the logo is the empty cross, emphasizing that the risen Lord Jesus Christ is central to our school's whole foundation and operation. The radiating light symbolizes God's love and grace to us through Jesus Christ and the love we then share. The open Bible shows that all authority and practice is based on God's Word.
