  1. Every teacher at Ipswich School is passionate about educating younger people. They know the key to successful education is sharing their passion and capturing the imagination of those they teach. That is the essence of an Ipswich School education. We would be happy to give you an individual tour of the school – just contact our Admissions team to arrange this. We are very proud of our academic success which is one of the key features of Ipswich School. Our pupils realize their potential. By the time children leave the Prep School, they are generally about a year above national expectations, with some working considerably higher than this. In the Senior School, our GCSE and A-Level results are outstanding and we are normally at the top of local results tables. Choosing a school is probably one of the biggest decisions parents have to make. Whether you know Ipswich School already, or perhaps are choosing an independent school for the first time, we firmly believe that we create extraordinary futures for all our pupils.' Being loved by our stakeholders – pupils, parents, the community – is important to us, and we are embedding the following aims within all we do at Ipswich School intending to meet this aspiration. We aim To provide an environment where pupils feel safe and brave in all that they do To present pupils with a wealth of opportunities, both inside and outside the classroom, and to help them to find their passions To monitor our provision: pastoral, curricular, and co-curricular, learning from the best that we do, to ensure that the only limit on pupils’ development is their own potential To look for new ways to achieve the high standards that the school aspires to, working more smartly by using a ‘less is more approach, and managing the demands on our pupils and staff To strengthen the links in the ‘triangle’ joining parents, pupils, and school, to ensure we communicate well and are all working together with a common purpose To encourage our pupils to consider moral and spiritual values, to understand their place in the world, and to develop a spirit of service within the community To equip our pupils with the skills to be happy in their success at Ipswich School and beyond. 5. Adventist education is built on the belief that each student is unique and of immeasurable value. It values the importance of the systematic development of the whole person. Students are taught to accept the concept of service as a principle of life to be sensitive to people's needs and become contributing members of their home, church, and society. Our primary focus is on helping children feel safe and supported in our school community. Bullying is not tolerated. Teachers, chaplains, and counselors follow restorative practices. The goal is to repair relationships that have been damaged by seeking to bring about a sense of remorse and positive action on the instigator and forgiveness on the part of the victim. Our chaplains have an open door policy. They promote inclusion by running lunchtime clubs, spending time in classrooms and the playground, keeping an eye on vulnerable individuals, assisting in student welfare, and developing positive social interactions. Chaplains are also responsible for our spiritual development programs, including our weekly Prime Time chapel services held on Wednesday mornings and our annual Week of Worship. Parents and friends are welcome to join us for these programs. The chaplains' main objectives are to: Foster and encourage the spiritual and emotional wellbeing of the whole school community Give comfort and support to students, staff, and parents/caregivers in times of need such as grief and trauma Promote an understanding of diversity and to work in a broader spiritual context to support students and families of all religious affiliations Assist school counselors and staff in the delivery of student services Support students to explore their spirituality, guiding spiritual, values and ethical matters Facilitate access to the helping agencies in the community Create an environment of cooperation and respect If you would like a school counselor to work with your child, please contact us through the office. A timetable is available at reception for families to make appointments with the counselor or other individuals on the pastoral care team. The chaplains/counselor will contact parents as the need arises; however, if you would prefer that your child does not participate in our school chaplaincy and counseling support, please let our administration know. The Adventist independent school system is a worldwide network of Christian schools, colleges, and universities operating since 1863. It is now one of the largest Protestant independent school systems in the world. Committed to making quality Christian education accessible to everyone, each school is founded on Christian principles and welcomes students from all religious and cultural backgrounds. The Seventh-day Adventist Church operates 5,846 schools worldwide, with a total enrolment of over 1 million students. 58 Adventist independent schools in Australia cater to over 12,000 students in every state and territory. Seven comprehensive, coeducational schools cover the South Queensland area that provides quality education in new or refurbished and well-equipped buildings and grounds.
