This school was established in 1905 as an elementary trade school known as the Iloilo Trade School. The College has grown into a leading technological and professional workforce development institution as it serves Region VI and the whole country. To meet its vision as the Center of Excellence in Science and Technology, the College has established its Local Area Network (LAN) that links different colleges and departments to the internet for the virtual world's vast resources. Through this worldwide web, the College gets wired, giving our students, faculty, and staff access to information highway needed to harness instruction, research, extension, and production of the College. The College Library has its Online Public Catalog (OPAC) to retrieve fast and accessible information on the books' author, title, and subjects. The Administration and Operation of the College have been certified by Anglo Japan American (AJA) Registrars and registered under the requirements of BS EN ISO 9001:1994 with Certificate NO. Since its founding, PHINMA has been operating businesses in several industries all over the Philippines and turning these into leading manufacturers and service providers. Upon its establishment, PHINMA helped Bacnotan Cement Corporation (BCC), together with its subsidiary-sister plants, become the foremost producer of cement in 1957 under the brand name Union Cement. In 1971, PHINMA pursued the paper and packaging industry with United Pulp and Paper Company (UPPC), letting UPPC set an agreement with the Siam Cement Group, Thailand's largest industrial conglomerate, to create the biggest and most advanced paper manufacturing facility in the Philippines. PHINMA has had joint ventures with Trans-Asia Oil and Mineral Company for marine exploration, coal mining, and energy generation Bacnotan Consolidated Industries Incorporated for GI sheets manufacturing and Union Galvasteel Corporation for galvanizing. In 1987, PHINMA Realty Corporation and FCI Development Corp merged, forming PHINMA Property Holdings Corporation (PPHC). PPHC handles construction, property management, and sanitation. It is now one of the biggest developers of affordable housing. On the other hand, the PHINMA Group Development Foundation, a derivative of PPHC, built the Don Filemon C. Rodriguez Training Center in Tagaytay City. PHINMA entered the banking sector by launching the Asian Saving Bank as a commercial banking institution in 1989.PHINMA has always aimed to focus on the Filipinos. Filoil, PHINMA's oil refinery in Cavite, had the marketing strategy "Filipino First," stimulating a nationalistic sense of consumerism among Filipinos. COMPEL, PHINMA's Community Relations division, was created to reach out to the communities where PHINMA plants are located to coordinate with local government units to improve the livelihood of the Filipinos. Being one of PHINMA's examples of good corporate citizenship and community building, COMPEL received the Corporate Citizenship Excellence Award from the Philippine Business for Social Progress in 1996. In 2004, PHINMA sold it is paper and cement manufacturing businesses. It shifted to handling service and education sectors when it acquired Araullo University in Cabanatuan, Nueva Ecija. When it celebrated its golden anniversary in 2006 with the tagline "Life can be better," PHINMA focused its mission on building the nation through competitive and well-managed business enterprises that will enable Filipinos to attain a better quality of life. A four-year course aims to develop managers and qualified personnel for the tourism industry, focusing mainly on travel management. The Program is designed to address the burgeoning travel industry in tourism and support its economic development. A unique feature of the Program is its domestic and international Practicum, where the students are required to undergo 400 hours of Internship in their senior year in any airline, travel companies, and allied fields of their choice. Bachelor of Science in nursing – music/art therapy track is a 9-semester program centered on a 2-fold concentration: (1) the formation of a professional nurse towards a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree and (2) the acquisition of music and art competencies as a nursing intervention utilized in the healing profession. The proper use of art and musical skills, knowledge, and attitudes, especially voice, piano, and guitar, as an alternative Nursing intervention shall be part of the competencies to be developed in the students who are already inclined to these talents. These competencies will provide the graduates with an edge over her Asian colleagues as the preferred professional nurse in local, national, and global communities.
