The school is approved by the MEC (Ministry of Education and Culture). Our main aim is to educate people who will assimilate with their civil, work, and political responsibilities. They will be willing to serve, following the domestic cultural norms, and be able to make their respective professional objectives a reality, whilst working towards an open and tolerant society. As every member of Hamelin- Laie International School is equipped with the values needed to work with perseverance and responsibility, we will succeed in our educational aims. Hamelin Laie International School is a private institution started in 1989 that is wholly dedicated to the infant, primary and secondary education. The school is approved by the MEC (Ministry of Education and Culture of Spain) and authorized by the International Baccalaureate to teach the IB Diploma Programme. We believe in education that fosters and promotes critical and creative thinking our students learn to generate and evaluate hypotheses, develop lifelong learning skills and understand key concepts in the core academic disciplines and the arts. Our private school has always opted to include innovative pedagogies. Learning abilities such as social, self-management, communication, research, and analytical are embedded skills in our teaching and learning process so that our students are well prepared for a world full of countless academic and professional possibilities and experiences. The curriculum, from Early Years to the IB Diploma & Bachillerato, is primarily taught in English with certain subjects taught in Spanish and Catalan. Our approach to teaching through languages is based on CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning), which is content-based learning through an additional language (foreign or second), thus teaching both the subject and the language. Presently, with an enrolment of around 1450 students representing over 40 nationalities, and faculty and staff amounting to more than 150 people from about 15 nationalities, Hamelin-Laie offers various local and international programs with a student-centered approach to teaching, learning, and promoting international-mindedness. The students at Hamelin-Laie International School are defined as creative, well-informed, and instructed individuals, with critical voices, capable of improving the world around them. The secret of Hamelin-Laie International School radiates from the global vision of educating human beings by putting their potential, their natural solidarity, their curiosity, and continuous interest in learning at the center of their education.
