Welcome to the Ferry Lane Primary School. Ferry Lane Primary School sits at the heart of its community, situated on a residential estate near Tottenham Hale Station in Haringey, London. We are very proud of our school. Ferry Lane is a special place to be and we are a caring and supportive school. We believe in developing all children’s love of learning in a safe and stimulating environment. We promote E.P.I.C. teaching and learning striving to ensure that our children’s learning is exciting, pacey, involving, and challenging. Ferry Lane has undergone some exciting changes to enrich the curriculum and enhance opportunities for learning across all subjects. The national programs of study for each subject have been broken down into segments and embedded back into our curriculum in a way that provides cross-curricular links and makes learning sequences meaningful and purposeful. We are excited to announce that these changes will be brought in from the Spring term and, along with a brand new scheme of work for History and Geography, we are confident that this rich and vibrant curriculum will create outstanding teaching and learning provision for all pupils. Ferry Lane Primary is striving for the Gold Award Primary Science Quality Mark which is a prestigious award that recognizes outstanding delivery of science across a school. Having held several events over the past year, and as well as delivering outstanding teaching and learning through the science curriculum, we are well on track to achieve this. Saltney Ferry is a growing County Primary School based in Saltney Ferry on the outskirts of Chester. The name derives from the ferry that used to operate across the River Dee transporting pedestrians and cyclists -a footbridge has now replaced the ferry. The school caters to children from the ages of 3 – 11 years and we also have ‘Saltney Small Steps Playgroup’ onsite for children aged from 2 years to 4 months. At Saltney Ferry, we strive to provide education, set good foundations for future development, and help children to realize that learning is fun and lifelong. We have high expectations for our pupils in their work and behavior, supported by a dedicated team of staff who work extremely hard to ensure that all our children reach their full potential. At Saltney Ferry CP School we recognize that good attendance and punctuality are essential if pupils are to take full advantage of school and become independent learners. It is vital to the continuity and effectiveness of learning. Children should enjoy school and develop good habits of attendance and punctuality which will influence them as they grow older. We believe that attendance is a partnership between parents and the school, and is the responsibility of everyone to help children develop good habits for life, monitor and support attendances, and to be alert to any problems that may lead to absence. School attendance is subject to education law and guidance and this school attendance policy is written to reflect this legislation and the guidance produced by the Welsh government. It is a parent’s responsibility to ensure that their child arrives at school on time and in a condition to learn.
