  1. Thirty-six years ago Al Faisaliah was established by some female members from the Royal Family (named after King Faisal). They aimed to create a unique educational and social environment for their daughters. Hence, the school was strongly supported by its royal owners. After twenty-three years, Al Faisaliah ownership has been transferred to Ma'arif Education and Training Holding Company. However, the special educational and social environment which distinguishes Al Faisaliah School from other schools has remained unchanged. FIS has been approved and recognized by the Saudi Ministry of Education under the No. 4282310069, since 1977. The school grew slowly but steadily by grade and step by step, started with KG and primary and ended with twelve grade. At FIS we believe that Learning is a life-long challenge. Every person has dignity and worth as an individual. Students' learning needs are the primary focus of all decisions impacting the school's educational program. Students must assume responsibility for their growth and learning. School should be a safe and respectful environment. Academic standards should challenge all students. Professional staff development is necessary for continued school quality and improved student achievement. Effective Learning requires the partnership of students, parents, staff, and the community. Every school has its own story to tell. The context in which teaching and student learning take place influences the processes and procedures by which the school makes decisions around curriculum, instruction, and assessment. The context also impacts the way school leadership considers how to organize, maintain order, and stay faithful to the school's direction. The school is licensed to enroll up to 988 students in the three schools as the classroom capacity is 18 in KG, 22 in other classes. Currently, FIS is serving 847 students in grades K- through twelfth grade. The school is housed in three separate buildings. The teaching staff at FIS is highly qualified. There are 74 full-time teachers. one is holding a master’s degree, eight are holding postgraduate diplomas, and eight are in the process of obtaining an educational diploma. The other 31 school members include 8 subject leaders and coordinators, three-stage principals, a Gifted and Creative Coordinator, Learning Difficulties Specialist, a Supervision Coordinator, and a librarian. Most of them are Saudis holding Bachelor's degrees. The school has 45 classrooms, 3 Science labs, 2 Gymnasiums, 3 libraries, 2 Art and Craft rooms, 4 computer labs, 1 theater, Two cafeterias The school is an Arabic medium therefore, all the curriculum guides are prescribed by the Ministry of Education except for the International classes. The school's program for the English Language follows curriculum guides which the publisher provides along with CDs, videos, posters, tapes, etc. An advanced curriculum for gifted and talented students is applied from grade five to grade twelfth in Math and Science.
