  1. The University of Darussalam (UNIDA) Gontor is an accredited private university and part of a traditional Islamic education institution, namely pesantren. Therefore in its educational activities, it maintains the vision and mission, and spirit of pesantren. Being the university of pesantren, UNIDA Gontor, which was initially founded in 1963, had undergone a long institutional journey. In the beginning, it was named Darussalam Institute of Education. In 1994 called Darussalam Institute of Islamic Studies, and finally emerges as the University of Darussalam Gontor in 2014 under the Ministry of Education and culture's decree, the Government of the Republic of Indonesia no. 197/E/O/2014. During that journey, it had encountered various challenges and gained success, and gave its meaningful contributions and services for society, nation, and religion. Although it maintains the spirit of pesantren, UNIDA Gontor academically pays attention to scientific quality through Islamic studies' curriculum and framework. Human resources development is also given top priority, either through formal education of undergraduate and postgraduate programs or scientific forums inland and abroad. The academic and non-academic activities in this campus could be maintained effectively because of the nature that the whole students and majority of the lecturers resided inside the integrated campus. All development activities are internally and continuously evaluated by the quality control unit and external assessment and regular assessment of the National Accreditation Board (BAN-PT). As a result, the entire undergraduate, as well as the postgraduate departments, are accredited. Institutionally, the University of Darussalam Gontor also has been accredited. At the same time, the activities of its bureaus and structural bodies are continuously developed regularly. So, UNIDA Gontor is not just a university campus. It is much about a milieu of education institutions and a scientific community. Indeed, this simple profile is not enough to describe the real situation. Therefore, to come and to see the campus of UNIDA Gontor directly is much better than reading this profile. Please read, and your coming to the UNIDA Gontor campus, the Fountain of Wisdom, is most welcomed. Ahlan wa sahlan.
