- Connaught is a fully inclusive school providing a wealth of opportunities for students of all abilities and talents to achieve their full potential. Our ethos is one of high standards and expectations. The school is a happy and harmonious place where the students and staff show mutual respect. Connaught is highly regarded by the local community and we aim to work with it, especially its parents and governors to encourage our students to become confident, considerate individuals who will play a full part in society whether locally, nationally, or on a global scale. We are determined that every student develops a love of learning and takes advantage of the many curricular and extracurricular opportunities that they are offered in their time at Connaught. Our school motto is ‘Seize the Day and our logo is a soaring bird, illustrating clearly that we believe that there should be no boundaries to our students’ aspirations. We are committed to providing a school curriculum that allows all our students to enjoy their learning and achieve their best through: A broad and balanced school curriculum that promotes the spiritual, moral, cultural, mental, and physical development of our students High expectations which challenge our students’ thinking, foster their creativity and ensure the development of essential literacy and numeracy skills Preparing them for the opportunities, responsibilities, and experiences of later life A Citizenship, Personal, Social, Health & Economic Education program Religious Education studied in each Key Stage The development of Information Communication Technology (ICT) skills as an integral part of the curriculum A careers program that supports all students in Year 11 participating in college interviews Subject events including performances from visiting theatrical groups Connaught School for Girls is required to show its value for money statement in conjunction with DfE regulation as stated below."All academy trusts are required to complete an annual value for money statement to help them self-assess what they have done to maximize the impact of their money. The statement must be signed by the trust’s accounting officer and a copy of the signed statement must be emailed to the Education Funding Agency (EFA) at the email address below by 31 December each year. It must also be published on the trust’s website within one month of submission to the EFA. The value for money statement was first announced in the September 2012 edition of the Academies Financial Handbook and originally was to be presented as part of academy trusts’ annual reports and audited accounts. However, the statement is now a separate free-standing return that will not be a part of the annual report and accounts. The value for money statement does not need to be audited by academy trusts’ external auditors." View full school
