  1. The Hong Kong Chinese Christian Churches Union (HKCCCU) is a Christian organization with a long history. HKCCCU was founded in 1915, by the concerted efforts of seven Christian churches, namely, the London Missionary Society, the Anglican Church, the Congregational Council, the Chinese Rhenish Church, the Tsung Tsin Church, the Methodist Church, and the Baptist Church. In 1948, the Union was registered as a legal organization (Hong Kong Register of Societies No.1025). At present, there are around 306 member churches and a total of more than 200,000 Christian members. Since its inception, the HKCCCU Education Committee has been providing all-around Christian education using forums and youth camps. HKCCCU has established scholarships for theological education and it publishes a weekly newsletter, “Christian Weekly,” which provides a channel for churches to express their views. On its 85th anniversary, HKCCCU created its first school to realize the teachings of the Bible and to encourage Christians to serve and be a beacon of hope for others. Logos Academy, a “through-train” school, combines both primary and secondary education. The establishment of Logos Academy expresses the Christian commitment for both the pursuit of quality life and education, as well as the fulfilling the Christian ideal of serving the community. HKCCCU will also continue to serve the people of Hong Kong through evangelistic activities, educational services, medical services, charity work, and publications. Logos Academy is founded on the Truth of the Bible and a global education perspective. It adopts the “through-train” mode of primary and secondary education, takes advantage of the flexibility of the direct-subsidy scheme, and enjoys well-equipped classrooms and buildings with high-tech learning facilities. With these, Logos Academy is in a privileged position to develop into a unique school of character, meeting world-class standards and comparing with high-quality schools around the world. We strongly believe that the heart of education is the education of the heart. Logos Academy is committed to assist our students to pursue an abundant life built on truth, goodness, and beauty. We aim at providing an all-around education leading to students’ spiritual, moral, cognitive, aesthetic, physical, and social growth. The school also cultivates and enhances students’ ability to inquire, reason, self-learn, solve problems, and face the many challenges of life. We aim to cultivate a culture of learning whereby learning is an effective and pleasurable undertaking for students. In addition, we work to ensure that this culture will also be shared among school board members, the principal, teachers, and staff members as well as parents. We trust that life kindles life. On this basis, Logos Academy will serve as a meeting point for talented local and overseas educators to work hand-in-hand in various positions throughout the school. We maintain a strong connection with external organizations, staying up-to-date with the latest educational and scientific research, and implement new educational theories and ideas to ensure our continued progress in the direction of excellence. We also share our practices and experiences with other schools to raise the quality of education throughout the world. The school invites parents to collaborate with management. We will set aside resources to enhance the professional growth of our teachers and to enrich their personal lives. Ongoing improvement and adjustments in the curriculum, teaching methods, and the design of learning activities, assessments, and management will help the school set the right direction to provide quality education for the community. Logos Academy, with two school sites that span over a total of 162,000 sq. ft, is built according to the standard Y2K Primary and Secondary School Design. The campus itself is essential in providing an optimal learning environment maximizing the student’s learning opportunity. Besides the contemporary facilities that support the needs of formal teaching, our campus incorporates a broad range of facilities and resources to inspire their minds in various zones. Their learning process will not be limited to the classrooms. A diversity of skills and knowledge will be developed through their participation in different activities. The greening of the environment is done throughout the campus. Students will be kept in a close relationship with nature. Not only will it provide them with environmental knowledge, but it will also help to achieve a healthy balance between their mind and body. Students are encouraged to exercise regularly to maintain good physical health. We have 6 basketball courts: four outdoor and two indoors in the school campuses to suit different sports activities and/or to host different events. Music cubicles with pianos are provided for students’ use. The rooms are designed to encourage students to appreciate and share their musical experiences. The activity corners are designed to inspire the students’ minds and encourage students’ interactions. It is built in each level of our primary campus, each with a unique theme serving a specific purpose. Different forms of games and activities will be carried out in different corners. Through participating in these activities, the students will be able to develop skills other than those learned in the classrooms. View full school
